I’ll write a little more on how we go with them once the build is underway but so far, smooth sailing & we could not be happier with the service we’ve received! With the ‘design’ side of things, so the bathrooms and kitchens etc.. we are slightly limited as we’re just going with their ‘spec’ designs but again, if we wanted to pay the money the option to change things is always there! Normally if you build and manage it yourself you would buy the land and then pay at different stages of the build which means you’d have a mortgage to pay along with whatever you were paying where you were living while the build was happening. If you got this far & may I ask you to cross your fingers & pray to the council fairies to let everything go smoothly from here so we can START THE DAMN BUILD

Be sure to check and make sure they’re actually allowed where you’re headed You’re not actually allowed to take your dog a lot of places & it’s really bloody annoying. Places like nature reserves or national parks usually have bans or restrictions so be sure to check your walk on places like the DOC website or blogs like Epic Little Missions that give you heaps of information on an assortment of walks available near you! We didn’t actually realise the walk we were going on was going to be so long. If you’re peckish you can be certain your dog that’s been going nuts feels exactly the same!

The boys we’re off again this weekend fishing the canals I was actually planning on doing the Godley Head Walkway on my little lonesome last weekend but as we ended up in Tekapo that didn’t end up happening. This is such a stunning walk with jaw droping literally every step of the way, the fact we could take Moo along was an added bonus too!

I wouldn’t call this an easy walk, the trail up definitely gets the heart pumping however the track is well maintained and easy to follow so if you’ve got a mild level of fitness the track is totally doable for most. Head Coastal Walk track on the southern side of the bay that leads towards Godley Head past a row of historic baches. The track hugs the coastline, offering views back to Whitewash Head and across Pegasus Bay to the Kaikoura Ranges. About 10 mins from Breezes Col, take the 4WD track on your right that branches off past a power pole and connects back on to the Godley Head Coastal Walk track.
