An Insider's 3 Day Rome Itinerary • Unexpected Occurrence

If you’re going with a guide, you’ll probably go first thing in the morning, so feel free to swap Castel Sant’Angelo with the Vatican City. this 3 day Rome itinerary is so jam-packed, you’ll want to stay in a relatively central location. I wouldn’t stay super close to the train station if you’re coming in and out of Rome late at night, but if you’re not planning on staying out too late, this is a great option. Where to Go From Rome Rome is an incredible place to start your Italy trip because it’s so central.

Things to Know Before Moving to Rome: Travel Journal #7 • Unexpected Occurrence

We’ve periodically moved to San Francisco, cycled a route way too hard for me in Switzerland, and, uh, we’ve moved to Italy. Before Moving to Rome Living in Italy and going on holiday in Italy are two totally different things. Bring the paperwork to Italy and set aside some free days to get your permit of stay done. it’s a luxury to have public transport in the first place, but life will be so much pleasant if you don’t have to rely on public transport every day.

How to do the Cinque Torri Hike in the Dolomites • Unexpected Occurrence

During the summertime, hundreds of hikers flood to the area to wander around the many trails that circle around the rock formation, either making their way up by foot or by ski lift. It’s a stop upon request, so you’ll need to have a map out to make sure you get off at the right stop! After a short while, you’ll start to go uphill, though it’s nothing too long or steep. we brought a liter to share (so not much), though if you’re doing the short hike during the peak season, you could forgo bringing water and stop at the rifugios on the way and make this short hike a hot chocolate tour.

The Croda Da Lago Hike: One of the Best Day Hikes in the Dolomites

If you’re looking for a day hike with amazing views, a fair bit of elevation gain, and a chance to rest with a warm lunch, the Croda Da Lago hike is for you! You’ll get to a signpost where trail 437 and 434 converge, and you’ll be able to follow trail 437 either to the left or the right. Rifugio Croda Da Lago is open quite a bit later than other mountain huts, so we took advantage of it and had a light lunch here. It took us a while to get down, as we’re slower going downhill than uphill, but once the steep section (all in eyesight!) is over, it’s a short hike back to the intersection where you previously chose to go clockwise around the trail, and then you have an easy downhill bit back to the trailhead.
