When I came up with the title for this post I’d genuinely forgotten that my previous Look Du Jour had a rather similar name. Even less than the aforementioned pavement sunbathers, including the fellow I saw spreadeagled on the side of Hammersmith Road wearing nothing but budgie smugglers just the other day But I am ridiculously pleased with myself being able to incorporate one of my top five favourite phrases into this post and definitely have zero shame about my love for seasonally appropriate prints and drinks. The bag is a beloved Sophie Hulme classic that is so adorable I don’t even care that it’s highly impractical and all of my stuff always falls out.

As anyone who’s gone anywhere near my instagram recently will be well aware, I recently got a puppy (or “ridiculous bat-weasel”, according to my dad) and am completely in love with her. Having spent years strolling in the park or by the river, sad and dog-less and staring at other peoples pooches, nothing brings me more joy than doing those beloved activities with a dog of my own. On the chillier days that will inevitably come soon, I plan on layering the gingham dress over a plain white t-shirt and adding a pair of white sneakers, possibly a silk scarf too. During the couple of South of France trips I plan on taking this summer, I’ll be rocking it with lace up sandals, cat eye sunglasses and a huge straw hat with a red lip thrown in for glam measure.

Where: Out and about in London Spring has sprung! Or more accurately, we had a few days of heatwave followed by a lot of heavy rain and/or thermal underwear level coldness then back to heat, a cycle which will continue on repeat… much like every other April to May transition in the history of British weather.
