2018 was certainly a great for Black British writers who had their books published. I launched the Black British Creative with Kehryse Johnson and organised the Black British Female Author with the authors of Slay in Your Lane, Chimmy Lawson and Culture. Made some lovely gin cocktails with Kehryse and Elsie with Tanquery at the pop up garden at The Playboy Club. Attended numerous events such as Stylist, Elle Weekender and Black Girl Fest.
The Wine Lovers Subscription Box is a quarterly box that contains two full sized wine bottles plus a surprise gift with every box. It’s also perfect for subscription box lovers who enjoy the excitement of not knowing what will turn up at their door and the pure joy of unboxing. The box is created by self confessed wine lover, Elsie Boat who launched the box not only as a lovely gift but to help fellow wine lover to discover new brands from different regions. The box contains two bottles from the famous Valle Central region in Chile – an area where the sunny warm climate and ideal soil conditions allow the quality of the grapes to shine through.
The venue is one of those eatries that has come famous on Instagram and is now a hot spot for many a press launch or VIP event. We were enchanted by the gorgeous peonies outside decorated into a large circle which was perfect for selfies and also a prop for the ever so cute bike. We arrived at Elan Cafe around 6pm and it was not busy, in fact it was 2/3 full but service was very slow, not only did we have to call the waiter over several times to take our order Overall I think Elan Cafe is a wonderful place to come and shoot content if you are a blogger or Influencer (which a lot of people seemed to be doing) but the food is pretty good but not brilliant and at £6.00 for a latte, the place is not cheap.
There was a gorgeous bar decked out in flowers and herbs as well as a garnish wall with bottles of Tanqueray Gin, Tonic Water, pots of herbs and jars of fruit – basically everything you need to make the perfect gin fused cocktail. We were then served numerous canapes and lots of gin cocktails (I lost count after three) however the one that stood out to me was The Haunted Mansion which contained Tanqueray, Cherry Marnier, Raspberries, Egg White and Noilly Prat. I have convinced myself that I need a Gothic Garden complete with a decorated bar. If you fancy an evening out with a bit of a twist then I would recommend the Gothic Gin Garden; it is the perfect venue for you to catch up with friends or to get your night off to a rolling start.
