“I got confidence and comfort from Gender Spectrum”

A few weeks ago we hosted our annual Gender Spectrum Family Conference, and what an exciting, energizing, and transformative weekend it was. More than 600 adults and 300 children attended the Gender Spectrum Family Conference, seeking community and life-changing resources with the help of 180 volunteers and over 70 workshop presenters. It also showed me the true amount of diversity within the trans community, and the amount of supportive allies, friends, and family that were excited about participating in the conference. Not everyone is able to get to the Gender Spectrum Conference; but we reach so many more youth, families and professionals through our online programming, providing a network of supportive and informed youth and adults who can help.

Run for Gender Spectrum at SF Pride!

We are delighted and honored to announce that Gender Spectrum was chosen by the San Francisco FrontRunners to be the beneficiary of the 40th Annual San Francisco Pride Run! This is always one of the most enjoyable events of Pride weekend, with runners (and walkers) from throughout the Bay Area coming together for a fun, joyous time in the park. The run will be held on Saturday, June 29 at 9am — registration is now open! Online registration is highly encouraged — registration fees increase after June 15 so don’t delay! This is a wonderful way for the whole family to kick-off Pride weekend and help support Gender Spectrum

The Prince and the Dressmaker: a Gender Spectrum Story Time

Set in Paris, at the dawn of the modern age, the book tells the tale of Prince Sebastian, who is looking for a bride―or rather, his parents are looking for one for him. At night he puts on daring dresses and takes Paris by storm as the fabulous Lady Crystallia―the hottest fashion icon in the world capital of fashion! Sebastian’s secret weapon (and best friend) is the brilliant dressmaker Frances―one of only two people who know the truth: sometimes this boy wears dresses. In a starred review, Booklist says The Prince and the Dressmaker has “Gorgeously dense artwork, lively sense of movement, effervescent fashions, sweet romance, and a heartwarming denouement.
