Giving God 12 Dozen Roses

If I go 2 weeks without spending time in God’s word, then I avoid spending time in God’s word for the next 2 weeks because I feel shame. I avoid talking about God and my quiet time with my husband. Instead of finding God in worship music at church, she found God when she was at home painting. I’m not praying out loud a lot right now, but I’m worshiping God as I listen to sermons and worship music and paint.

No Social Media? No Problem

Every year I take a blogging break, and every now and then I take a social media break. Since being in graduate school, my social media scrolling habit became atrociously addicting, and my blogging habit became decreasingly void

In Honor of Mary Oliver

Naturally, it started to snow around the same time I received a text that said Mary Oliver died. Mary Oliver would have taken the moment to craft a poem intertwining death and snow. During our end of the year capstone dinner for senior English majors, the aforementioned English professor gave me the “Mary Oliver Award: for seeing the beauty in every day. I love that Mary Oliver’s poetry is filled with pragmatic whimsy.

2018 in Review: To All The Books I Loved...

In order to read 50 books in one year, I had to read an average of 1 book a week or 4-5 books a month. I read this book very quickly in January of 2018, and I would definitely read this book again, but I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would.
