Mother’s Day is fast approaching and, quite frankly, it’s common knowledge that the one thing mums really want on this day of all days is to wake from a good night’s sleep. This week we’re sharing some top classically soothing sleep tips with Jo Tantum, the baby sleep expert. So try and use blackout for naps and nights ,to help with early morning wakings. Just put on the en-suite or landing light on,rather than a direct light,or try something like the Mee light which has a low blue light glow.
This week is Safer Sleep Week, the national awareness campaign from the Lullaby Trust, “targeting anyone looking after a young baby. Sadly, around 4 babies a week still die from SIDS and if all parents were aware of safer sleep advice many lives could be saved. This year the focus for the campaign is on co-sleeping, in recognition of the fact that many families choose this as their preferred way to sleep. There is fierce debate on this issue but many parents lack information on how to co-sleep more safely and the potential risks of co-sleeping under certain circumstances and health visitors struggle to impart this information in a way that parents will accept.
Nap time is the BEST time, but only if your baby actually uses that time to sleep. Otherwise, that precious part of every parent’s day can quickly become a war zone
