Greetings! I am Makeba Giles, Digital Content Producer, Influencer, and Founder of www.FaithHealthandHome.com and its online communities.

I took an interest in health and family advocacy at an early age. As a result, my passion along with my educational experience inspired me to create a digital space that provides a blend of curated content, personal stories, news, editorials, expert advice and resources to inspire and empower women and families around the globe.

I am a wife, mother of four, entrepreneur, blogger/writer, podcast host, and most importantly a believer of Christ. My hope is for others to see God through me, to know that inspired, healthy living is possible.

I am a faith-based health and family advocate with a strong commitment to positive and empowered living. I am a social media ambassador for the American Heart Association, American Stroke Association, and the United Nations Foundation's 'Moms+Social Good' initiative. Additionally, I am a member of the Parent Advisory Panel for the National Commission on Social, Emotional, and Academic Development, as well as various other organizations in my local community.

Since the launch of Faith Health & Home in 2011, I have been afforded the opportunity to partner with some of the best and most recognized health, family, and faith-focused programs and organizations across the country. I have also had the privilege of interviewing many health leaders and experts; plus some of the top athletes and entertainers in Hollywood. In addition, I have been featured in a host of media outlets, including NBC, CBS, FOX, CW, National PTA, Health Magazine, Gazelle magazine, STL Family magazine, STL American, nationally televised advertisements, and iHeart Media radio outlets.

I live by Isaiah 41:20. đź’śâśť

Protect Your Peace: 5 Ways to Live More Consciously

These sound like lofty ideals, but there are simple things that you can do to live more consciously. As you experience the world more deeply and spend time in nature, you will likely find a greater desire to protect and preserve its health and beauty. Along with focusing outward on the planet, conscious living includes focusing inward. Striving to live more consciously can seem like a big undertaking, but small, incremental shifts make a big impact.

Girl Power: Author Denene Millner Launches Her Own Book Publishing Imprint to Share Authentic Stories and Illustrations of the Black Experience

Her experience as a tastemaker in the highly influential media world along with her for passionate advocacy for books featuring Black children and families led Denene to launch her own book publishing imprint, Denene Millner Books â€“ a love letter to children of color who deserve to see their beauty and humanity in the written word. Denene’s mission of sharing â€śeveryday stories that color the worlds of Black children” grew out of her desire to avoid commonplace stories about historical figures and, instead, highlight Black joy influences. The first three titles to be published under the Denene Millner Books imprint are ones that epitomize her core value of sharing authentic stories and illustrations of Black people, by Black people: I spoke with Denene to discuss her commitment to publishing children’s books that offer the Black experience through stories that counteract stereotypes and shine a light on Black people’s humanity.
