(I’ll finish the post on this eventually lol), I’ve been trying to change my mindset in terms of how I build relationships with people. Being “connected, not attached” essentially means being vulnerable enough to create a connection without being attached to expectations of what you want a relationship to be. This way we can avoid the attachment that comes with trying to define our relationships (which is what leads us to creating more expectations) and allow ourselves to better absorb the lessons we’re supposed to learn from the people that come into our lives. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this and continue the discussion below 🌸 Being “connected, not attached” essentially means being vulnerable enough to create a connection without being attached to expectations of what you want a relationship to be.
I’m taking a break from interning this semester (at least for now), and oddly enough having more free time makes me procrastinate even more 🙃. With traditional block scheduling, you set aside the same blocks of time for the same tasks every day. Basically, I look through my Google Calendar and create blocks of time throughout the week to get certain tasks done. The idea is to set aside blocks of time and have a set list of tasks that you can do.
I can’t necessarily say this about the first time I got faux locs back in high school since they were done the traditional way where you wrap hair around box braids and were SUPER heavy and stiff. But crochet faux locs…gurlllll (or whatever you identify as lol), crochet faux locs are another story. Let me know in the comments if you’d want to see a video for more hairstyles on crochet faux locs. #5 I Get To Be Lazy Dealing with my natural hair on a daily basis isn’t ideal (especially with school and sharing a bathroom), so faux locs make it easier for me to just get up, lay my edges (or not), and go.
For those who aren’t familiar, a vision board is essentially a visual representation of the things you want in life (i.e. traveling more, better grades, a new wardrobe, etc.). I’m not gonna lie, I haven’t been super consistent with looking at my board this year, but I’ve had success with them in the past (at least half of the things I put on my first board came to fruition). That’s pretty much what you want your entire vision board to look like because it’ll keep you motivated to move towards your goals. When I first learned about vision boards, I read that it is important to find pictures that represent what you want as accurately as possible, so I try to find pictures of people who look more like me (i.e. searching “Black women traveling”).
