Primary sources of protein in a vegetarian diet come from dairy, nuts, and protein-rich carbs. Since most dairy cannot be given to a cat in excess or given to some cats at all, this cuts out a lot of animal-based proteins which are necessary for a cat’s body to function properly. There are two types of vitamin A; one that is found in animal protein and dairy known as retinol, and one that is found in certain vegetables known as beta-carotene. This vitamin is also rarely found in vegetation unless it was fortified with synthetic vitamin D. As for arachidonic acid, this is needed by your cat’s body in order to produce an inflammatory response which is important for things like allergies, blood clotting, and general reproductive health.
The length of the whiskers from tip to tip across the front of a cat’s face typically measure the widest point of your cat’s body or girth. Some cats will have noticeably thick and long carpal whiskers while others may have thin short ones that blend into their fur. Since cats are nearsighted, every set (including the ones on their legs) help them to feel the movements of their pray after it has been captured. Because these whiskers are lower to the ground, they allow cats to feel vibrations to not only help them be better hunters but avoid an ambush from other cats or predators of their own.
The three most common medical reasons for a cat to pee outside the litter box is due to a UTI (urinary tract infection), kidney disease, or diabetes. When it comes to urinary tract infections and peeing outside the litter box, this is more common in female cats than males. If your cat is urinating outside the litter box, taking them in for a checkup is advised to rule out any underlining medical issues. Some external issues include using cat litter your cat does not like, moving the litter box to a place your cat feels unsafe or introducing a new cat into your home.
Another option is to buy or build an entire outdoor enclosure off of one of your windows or into the wall of the house. These work by keeping your cat safe whilst allowing them to enjoy the outdoors in a small enclosed area. They come in several different sizes and shapes and can easily be built onto almost any home. If you opt to build one yourself, you will have more customization options and placement ideas for your specific home.
