Etsy Spring Decor I'm Loving Right Now

You’ve heard of Etsy, right? I sure hope so! Etsy is an online platform where people who sell handmade items, arts and craft supplies, and vintage goods can set up shops to sell their products in. In fact, Etsy is where Growing Up Herbal first began—selling handmade herbal skin care products for babies and children

My Top 10 Most Used Essential Oils

Tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) essential oil is another essential oil that gets a good bit of use in our home, and it is also safe for kids ages 2 and up. While I don’t use it in as many ways as I do its cousin, lemon essential oil, I still consider it one of my top essential oil choices to have in my home. So in addition to the lavender essential oil I’m using, I dilute some peppermint essential oil in a wee bit of carrier oil (usually around 3%) and dab it on the back of my neck, my temples, and the bottoms of my feet. Eucalyptus essential oil can also be used for pain so sometimes when I make a warming sore muscle salve (you can find the recipe in this ebook), I’ll include eucalyptus essential oil and peppermint essential oil to it to make it like an Icy Hot substitute.

A Little Liver Spring Cleaning for Your Body

One way I’m doing this during the spring season is by evaluating my health and doing a bit of liver spring cleaning. Knowing what I know about the body, I knew these were all classic signs of liver congestion, and while some of my symptoms were showing up in other body systems, my liver was the root of it all. So Far At this point, I’m four weeks into my liver spring cleaning, and I’m happy to report that all of the symptoms I was experiencing have disappeared, except for the skin issues— Okay, so I hope this post on liver spring cleaning has given you some encouragement into the season of spring and its association with the liver as well as staying proactive in your health—even when you’re not facing serious health issues.

9 Little Things That Always Give Me A Boost

When rough days come my way, and they’re sure to come, I often think of little things I can do the make my day brighter. You know, little things that bring little pieces of light and happiness into my day, basically, changing my mindset and outlook on the day. If I’ve had a particularly busy day—one where I don’t feel like I’ve accomplished much at all other than keeping my head above water, going out to eat for dinner (or having Dean bring some sort of dinner home) is a great way to give me a boost simply because it’s one less thing I have to think about that day. I normally like to sip on wine as I prepare dinner, but if the day has been especially trying, a glass in the evening after the boys have gone to bed can be a really nice way to close out the day.
