Port Vale spent £46k on agent fees in last twelve months

Port Vale FC come in ninth place in League Two agent fees after paying £46,319 to agents during the last two transfer windows. The latest FA report covers the period February 2020 to February 2021 – the last two transfer windows. During that period the Valiants brought in ten permanent signings and three loanees. As far as the division goes, it is no surprise that big spending Salford top the list but perhaps more telling is that promotion chasing Tranmere Rovers and Cambridge United both come towards the bottom of the spending table.

Popular Port Vale away strip to be retained next season

Port Vale have announced that this season’s black away kit will be retained as a third kit next season after record-breaking sales. An official club statement said: Port Vale Football Club can confirm that the popular 2020/21 away shirt, a key driver in record shirt sales this season, will be retained as a third kit for the 2021/22 campaign. The club is aware of the fans’ admiration for this season’s away kit and is pleased to announce in advance that it will be utilised for the new campaign. The away shirt sales have exceeded all expectations and it is a unique shirt offering in comparison to previous seasons.

Harry McKirdy back as a registered Port Vale player

Port Vale forward Harry McKirdy is back in the squad after an injury to Zak Mills ruled the player out for the rest of the season. Share your thoughts and post a comment at the end of the article. The youngster was one of three players to be deregistered in January, alongside Dino Visser and Dan Trickett-Smith, as Vale kept to new Football League squad limits. Zak Mills was out for the remaining eight games, Vale took their case to the Football League and have been allowed to include McKirdy in his place.

Female referee appointed for Harrogate v Port Vale match

Female referee appointed: Port Vale’s Easter Monday game against Harrogate Town is set to mark a new chapter in the game as Rebecca Welch is been named as the matchday referee. Welch is the highest-ranking female referee in English football and her selection for the game comes after review of her performances this season by referee heads Mike Riley and Mike Jones. The 37-year-old, from Washington in County Durham, has officiated eight National League games this season and refereed the Women’s FA Cup final in 2017 and 2020. It shows that there is a real opportunity to young girls who are wondering if they are to take the whistle or are already referees they can aspire to be an EFL referee or like Sian Massey-Ellis operating in the Premier League.
