Perlu Network score measures the extent of a member’s network on Perlu based on their connections, Packs, and Collab activity.
We have noticed the StarLink, that worldwide cosmic Internet thingy that is already in operation at some areas and, moreover, at not exactly sky-high prices (sorry for – almost – unintentional pun), even though you can’t honestly call $99 per month on top of initial $499 an overly affordable cost (then again, a cheap futuristic service for everyone would make us rather suspicious). Because, according to the submission that SpaceX made to the US Federal Communications Commission, there are plans to extend the satellite system of aforesaid StarLink to virtually all types of transport in the Western world (yes, both US and Europe are to be covered), from trucks to air planes (trains included). Especially considering that said authority has already approved the first rollout, which is to include 1m – count them, a million – SpaceX data-casting terminals, working in concert with the already-greenlighted 4,4000 Earth-orbiting satellites. The creator of both celestial Internet and electric road wonder has already admitted that those “UFOs on a stick” (which is his own, less formal – though not nearly less poetic – definition of ESIMs) simply won’t fit into a regular car, considering their size.
Tech giants also contribute into the cause: there is Google’s Call Screen that, since the launch of new Android, prevents the suspicious calls from even reaching the ringer (they are automatically redirected to the voice assistant), and Apple, in turn, does the same through the new iOS 13’s option, aptly named “Silence Unknown Callers”. Call Filter by Verizon tells spam from legitimate calls and can filter it, stores all non-legitimate calls in special log, gives you caller IDs, allows you to look up spam and measures its risks. Just look at the number to begin with: if it’s not familiar to you (even while looking local), ignoring is the way to go (and we won’t insult your intelligence by telling you what to – not – do if it comes from a blocked list). Also, on top of the aforelisted defence software, you can choose other makers’ applications, some of which come free, such as Hiya (installable on Android and iOS alike), made by Call Protec makers (so you know it’s not created by amateurs) or Google Voice phone number, allowing you not to use your number for site / service registration, opting for sign-up instead.
Weight under 1kg, high-quality (FHD, to be precise), display sporting full rotation capability, protection against spill, privacy view option, mighty audio / video equipment (3 microphones and 4 speakers support the HD-capable webcam) and efficient touchpad (touchscreen is also available on some models) True to its reputation of visual power master, Apple fitted this particular line with the display type which (on top of sporting all the famous Retina qualities) can give you the DCI-P3 color standard, suitable for broadcasting, top-end Intel processors (i7 to i9), AMD Pro graphics and multiple microphones and speakers (3 and 6, respectively). Its AMD Ryzen 4000 processor is reported to be a big advancement over its predecessors, it offers up to 16GB of memory and up to 1TB of HD, it is feature-packed (you’ll find all kinds of connectivity here, and all of them are of the highest standard, such as 5.0 version of Bluetooth), FHD-equipped (even if the screen could be a bit brighter) and it’s certainly not fragile, yet just a little – 200g, to wit –heavier than 1kg. It may not have the highest specs out there (the processor is neither of Intel nor of AMD or Apple brand, but the Snapdragon by Qualcomm), but it’s incredibly flexible, offering both computer and tablet capabilities (further boosted by Slim Active Pen), its battery is reported to last day and night even you’ll play video on it, it weighs just 1.3kg and its connectivity is beyond reproach, what with both 5G modem and 4G LTE broadband coming with the package.
New iOS: What You Might Have Missed New iOS’ treasure: what you might have missed It appears that there is no end to riches the latest iOS’ version (that would be 14.4) can offer to the proud owners of Apple’s new iPhones. And this goes across all the device lines, not stopping just at phones: whether you have an iPhone, an iPad or an Apple TV, that will be enough to bring workout videos (with instructions) into your home (every week, at that) and gear your Apple Watch to track your exercises. Another set of photo and video-related upgrades includes the fast multiple shooting option, exposure adjustment, “keep your device still” reminder switching on in the dark and mirror mode of the selfie camera allowing for more thorough checking of how you’ll look there in advance. It has always been Apple’s strong point, but with iOS 14 you will be able to protect even more of your details when using location-requiring apps thanks to a new mode that lets you, if you so wish, hide your precise spot, informing the app only of your overall location.
