Y’all, I was not ready for all the emotional and physical changes that come with pregnancy, postpartum and motherhood after birthing 3 kids. Most days there’s an internal battle between what I want to accomplish and what I actually have the capacity to do. It can sometimes lead to feeling inadequate or like I’m not living up to my potential. I love that I make it look like easy, but I also want to be transparent and say that it’s not. I’m preaching to the choir here, I know. And myself. I’m guilty of forgetting to take care of me, of being so busy taking care of everyone and everything else that I don’t prioritize myself. The invisible load that women bear gets heavy. My therapist recently told me that going for walks and scheduling me time would help with feelings of anxiety and overwhelm. Do you know that it took me at least 2 weeks after that appointment before I actually WENT for walk?! 😩😂🤦🏽‍♀️ I laugh because, I when it comes to ME, I can seriously come up with every excuse as to why I can’t do something. I’m slowly and realistically trying to change that. Going for walks and not caring what happens while I’m gone, leaving the house for things other than work or errands, slow sipping coffee. I have to start being intentional with me.
