I can’t believe my ass completely didn’t notice that Sally and Becks from Adorkable, which I read and loved years ago, actually grew up and Wallflower was about their kid Viola . Wallflower was just as cute, featuring an adorable romance involving a fake relationship while plotting just a little revenge when Viola finds out her father intentionally had her drive Dare to school As much as I loved Sally and Becks’ relationship in Adorkable and the references to the book, O’Gorman strikes a perfect balance so it doesn’t overshadow Viola’s and It’s a light and fluffy read that’s perfect if you’re looking for a quick young adult contemporary book to read, which is something I enjoy from all of O’Gorman’s novels I’ve read thus far.

An Ember in the Ashes meets Mask of Shadows in Emily Victoria's #ownvoices debut YA fantasy, This Golden Flame, in which asexual Karis, a servant to the mysterious Scriptorium, accidentally awakens long-dormant automaton Alix, initiating an epic adventure full of magic, rebellion, and finding where you truly belong. Set in a world of automatons and magic, Karis has been living her life at the Scriptorium for years after being separated from her brother, where scribes seek to awaken the now dormant automaton army their country was once known for. All she wants is to find a way out of the place and be reunited with her brother, and she jumps at the opportunity when she accidentally wakes up an automaton named Alix, who was created by someone she’s been taught to be a traitor, and finds herself on the run from the Scriptorium with Alix and her best friend, Dane. I adored Alix the moment Karis stumbles upon and awakens him by accident, finding out that he’s very much not like the other automatons, and I loved how well Emily Victoria depicted his human-like feelings and thoughts on the page.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of the album overall, but I’ve always been pretty selective with SHINee, so I’m not surprised. But now we’re going back to our lately scheduled programming with Spear, the last book in Realm Lovejoy’s Le Fay series. Like the previous books in the series, Lovejoy’s latest novel is quick and fast, going from action to action; I found myself finishing the book in a matter of hours. Like many book series, there are subplots in between the main plot that is explored and the Le Fay series is no exception. Overall, though, I enjoyed Lovejoy’s take on Morgan le Fay, but I wished there was more book time spent to develop the characters further.
