I used to shop for things mindlessly without any thought about the process behind the creation. I never wondered where it came from, who made it, and what resources were used to form it. I feel that I had no appreciation for the things I bought with my hard earned money. I never questioned if what I wanted to buy was ever worth my time, energy, and space. I never thought to appreciate those who made it and everyone involved in bringing it to the shelf. I never gave thanks to nature for providing the materials. I was so disconnected with my consumption and the things I owned. Now I ask where things are from, how it was made and who made it. I’m recognizing the numerous living beings behind everything I buy and thanking the earth for its abundance through prayer.
My minimalism journey is going smoothly and I'm down to two shoes compared to twenty plus shoes about three years ago. My current focus is to have mental clarity of my exact needs and keeping only the things that satisfy my need. For me minimalism is beyond the pursuit of clean and modern aesthetics. It is about being absolutely sure of every part of my life and eliminating things that are half way good or no good at all. I have applied minimalism to my possessions, environment, relationships, career, spiritual and physical health, consumption, communication, and everyday decisions. I let go of everything that was negative, toxic and unnatural that caused suffering. Now I'm left with beautiful things and experiences that bring me absolute joy and well-being. . . . #zerodrop #minimalistshoe #barefootshoes
Two months into Medical Medium detox and I feel so much more mindful of the signs my body is sending. All the small aches and discomforts from the past are much more noticeable. I realize that I have used deadlines and busy work as an excuse to neglect my physical needs. My clear headedness has shown me that I need to nourish and support my body consistently. More mineral rich water and food that makes me feel good! 🍋🥒
My healing journey began about 5 years ago. In the beginning, I was very anxious to eliminate all the things that caused suffering. I didn’t want to endure anymore negative thoughts and manifestations when I knew in my head that there was something better out there. I covered my wounds temporarily and I never let myself heal properly. Now I have found what’s good for me. I don’t strive to be a zen master overnight. I focus on healing through daily routines and simple pleasures like meditation, yoga, hiking, joining a sangha and spreading compassion. I think that is the best part of healing, it is so simple 💕
Going plant based and eating fruits & veggies is so cleansing and nourishing to my body. Before I transitioned to becoming vegetarian, I was afraid of making sacrifices and giving up parts of my diet. Now I feel that I have gained so much benefits physically and emotionally. I also love that I am being more friendly to the earth by avoiding hormones and pollution causing livestock farming (factory farming.) Best of all is being able to keep my compassion alive and reducing the suffering of living beings.
I’m planning on starting a permaculture backyard garden when I move to a new place. I know there’s gonna be trial and error and lots to learn. I am a bit worried but sill excited about the thought of cooking with my own veggies. I’m especially excited about growing fresh kale, asparagus, and watermelon!
