It falls with power while releasing soothing sounds for our souls 💦 On our way back from Salt Spring Island we stopped at this waterfall only a few minutes from the car pullout. The rain was pouring down but I knew that there would be a chance the falls would be raging down - and yes it was indeed raging! There was just so much green and vibrance in this little spot making it probably the most lush and tropical like waterfall I’ve been to! See ya, off to roll in the mud 🍩🌧 This past weekend I had the opportunity to take @fordcanada's Maverick out on a little getaway to Salt Spring Island! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And let me tell you the Ford Maverick was so easy to handle from the windy roads to the rough muddy FSRs. A few features I love about the Maverick line is it’s fuel efficient, city drivable (aka I had no problem parking in small spaces), and there’s even a hybrid model that has the same features & capabilities that the full gas model has - perfect for that peace of mind when you can’t find cheap gas!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Overall this was a great vehicle to adventure around the island with that I may now want to overland out a truck instead of an SUV! Huge thank you to @fordcanada for allowing me to drive this adventure vehicle, bringing my mom along for the ride, and connecting us with other creatives! Immersing oneself to feeling alive 🌲 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve been looking forward to getting myself back into cold water swims/dives - it’s been over 6 months since the last time I went (that’ll change by hopefully next week). Although it still feels like ‘sprinter’ I think I’m ready to train my body again to handle cold bodies of water, getting that rush of adrenaline, and feeling alive. The last light ☀️ Lately I’ve been soaking in the last bit of winter hiking before it all melts and turns into muddy hiking. One this particular evening I made I had the intention of just going to the 1st peak but once coming up to it I saw that the conditions were great and fairly safe, so I continued up to the 2nd peak - safe to say it was even more magical from this spot! Ancient ice 🤯 I’m going to let these photos speak for itself and share some interesting glacier facts: 🧊 Because glacial ice is so dense and compact, it often appears a blue colour. This is because ‘blue’ is the only color that glacial ice can’t absorb - the color is reflected and perceived by the eyes. In contrast to red and yellow light waves, blue light can penetrate snow and ice, which then creates that cool shade of blue. 🧊 Due to the deposition and compaction of layers of well-formed snowflakes, glacier ice has a much more consistent structure than frozen water, making it technically a form of rock similar to limestone. 🧊 The Antarctic ice sheet is actually a glacier and has existed for at least 40 million years. If it were to melt in its entirety, sea levels would rise 210 feet worldwide, according to the U.S. Geological Service. 🧊 A single glacier ice crystal can grow to be as large as a baseball. 🧊 Glaciers form the largest reservoir of fresh water on the planet. In fact, they store 75% of the world’s fresh water! These are by far my favourite out of all the photos I took on this past trip to the Rockies - safe to say I’ll be looking out for more detailed earth textures I could capture!!
