Have you forgiven yourself for the pain other people put you through? To experience inner peace, we also need to be able to forgive and to let go of guilt. Forgive yourself and forgive others. Feeling guilty about past actions wonât change them and wonât make anybody feel any better (either you or the person whom youâve hurt). Do what you can to put things right, resolve to do better in the future, and move on. Likewise, letting go of anger or grudges will bring about a surprising sense of peace. Think about it â how does holding onto these negative emotions help you? And do you think they hurt those against whom you hold them more than they hurt you? Not at all. They are your emotions and you are the only person whom they can harm. Of course, it can be very difficult to forgive someone whoâs hurt you, but what Iâve come to realize is that most people donât maliciously set out to hurt others, and those who do are deeply unhappy themselves. â Are you happy or at peace in your present life? 1. What Areas Need the Most Work? Consider using Sunday evenings, when you normally mourn the end of the weekend, to go over weekly goals and priorities. This is a great way to stay focused on what you want to accomplish without getting ahead of yourself. 2. Do talk, but stop complaining excessively. Hereâs the thing that people arenât going to tell you â listening to someone incessantly complain about their life or position is draining, mostly a waste of time, and actually harms you in the long run. Does that mean you shouldnât talk about your problems at all? No! But do be clear about why you are talking in the first place. â Are you trying to process the emotions associated with the problem youâre having? â Are you looking for solutions? 3. Live your life proactively instead of reactively Do you procrastinate? Plenty of people do. Choosing to do nothing just means the decision will be made for you by whatever external forces are pushing you. 4. Cut toxic people out of your life. âYou are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.â 5. Stop chasing external happiness and validation. Practice gratitude. What weâre chasing when you buy the new thing, put the substance in your body, or seek external pleasure is a temporary dose of endorphins and dopamine. Happiness is a quiet, peaceful thing. Itâs something you find when you start being okay with yourself and where you are presently at with what you have. 6. . Let go of the things you canât control. If you sit in sadness or anger over the negative things that happen in spite of your positive intentions, you begin to lose sight of your own power. This can lead to a victim mentality that leaves you feeling unable to create a better life for yourself. Let go of any resentment and bring your focus back to the things you can control. Suppose, for example, you're in a difficult situation and don't feel like dealing with it. As you sit there, you play around with the idea of opportunity coming from difficulty. Fortunately, you discover that it pulls you out of your slump to think about yourself in the future, explaining to a friend how you turned the difficult situation to your advantage. This is how you create your own motivational thoughts. Now, it might be more motivating if you imagine yourself being interviewed someday about how you overcame this difficult time. The thoughts that work for you are the thoughts you need to be thinking. When there is a truly uninspiring task you have to do, try promising yourself a reward for completion - make it one that really means something to you. âĄď¸Let's cancel perfection! đŞđ˝ When we have a thought or idea that we want to do or get across, we have to communicate to other people. Many do not get past this stage of wanting to, for they decide that they will wait until everything is perfect before they tell anyone or do anything. I have heard people say that they'll start when they have more money, time, learn more, practice more, when the kids are older, etc, etc, etc. The challenge with this is there is no perfect time. The best time to get started is now. Yes, you may need to be selective at rst with whom you talk to as there are negative people out there who may try to stop you or shut you down. Yet, I have found that most people shut themselves down by their fears and need to have everything just so. Reality is much brighter when you look at the most successful people out there. They repeatedly said that they failed their way to the top, that they learned by their mistakes and went on. There are millionaires that lost everything, brushed themselves off and then created more millions. We are not born with all knowledge on all things. We are not robots, calculating our every move. We are human beings that learn by what we do. We discover by how we interact. We learn when we communicate our thoughts and ideas. It is in the trying and being that makes us human. It is the journey not the end that tells us who we are and what we are made of. Perfection is not a means, it leaves no room for variation, creativity and understanding of the process. It is through the trial and error that we gain knowledge and wisdom. We remember and learn more through our mistakes than by what we do perfectly. âĄď¸On a scale of 1-10 how much self-confidence do you have today? Having a lack of self-confidence or low self-esteem can affect nearly all areas of your life. Confidence issues can be brought about for many different reasons and over time they become so commonplace that we just expect them to happen. If you are dealing with confidence issues at the moment you will understand just how it can affect your life and sometimes even stop you from doing things that you really want to. Some people allow it so it affects them in getting a promotion or meeting new people. đŞđ˝I have put together a list of some of the tips that I give to my clients to help them regain their confidence. 1. Surround yourself with positivity- Positive, enthusiastic and passionate people are contagious. Surround yourself with them and allow their confidence to brush off on you. By being around positive people we will learn how they confidently deal with things in their life that would throw us off course. 2. Trust Your Worth- know that you are worthy of anything you dream of. If you do not define your worth someone else will. Trust yourself and know that confidence looks good on you. 3. Watch what you say to yourself- We all talk to ourselves as we think about things. We say things like, âOh I canât afford that!â This type of inner talk can be quite negative as it closes our mind to finding a solution. Instead saying something like, âHow could I afford thatâ, allows you to use your brain for thinking and ultimately finding a solution. 4. Make a change Move career, house or make new friends. If you find that an element of your life is causing you to lack confidence â change it! Remember though that you set the limit on what is impossible, so open up your mind and consciously decide what you can and canât do rather than just relying on your emotions to make these decisions for you.
