I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. I am a city girl who finds joy in escaping to nearby beaches every once in a while. I worked in the advertising industry for a few years as a Producer and Production Designer.

When I am not busy adulting, I am always looking for small adventures since I get bored really easily and I always take my friends with me. You know, whoever is up for it. This year, I may have gotten too far — as far as New York City to be with my love, Gerald. And since I just changed last names and zip codes and am currently adjusting to the new life in the big apple, I’m hitting pause on adulting and focusing on settling down.

I recently opened a blog (www.ibayjam.com) because I wanted to have an outlet for all my thoughts and experiences, somewhat an extension of myself. I am also maintaining my Instagram page (@ibayjam_) where I post photographs that I took - people, places, and food. In both media, I will be writing about the things that I am passionate about – be it my relationship, my love for food and travel, my past and future work and career, or my never ending quest to find a piece of home in a foreign land. You can expect honesty and reality from me.

Finally got my ceramic flat iron!

I’m so happy I found this baby – Aima Beauty 1.25″ Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron! and I am not also well-oriented about products, but I do know ceramic material is better as it keeps my hair smooth and shiny, and it doesn’t really destroy my hair as it it not that harsh, and at the same time it keeps it as how I want it. I’m really forgetful and you know how dangerous these things are when it’s left on. I’m not saying that I will actually leave it on, but it’s nice to know that it has this safety feature.

Puerto Galera: Boracay near Manila

If you’ve heard or been to Boracay, you know how nice it is – white sand beach, hotels, parties all night We pay them around PHP 50-80 (it was 20 minutes away) per trip, and they are on-call, if we ever want to get picked up anywhere in the island, they will be there. Almost every [tourist] beach in the Philippines has island hopping activities. Aside from, of course, island hopping, they usually include snorkeling or diving, and sometimes cave excursions.

Upstate New York Adventures: Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is a city (apparently lol) in Niagara County, New York State. Niagara Falls State Park was recognized as the oldest state park in the United States. Going back a week before we left home, I was browsing through Groupon travel promos and I found a good deal for $70/night at Sheraton Niagara Falls. And since we were too early for the 4pm check-in time, we decided to take a stroll around Niagara Falls State Park.

Upstate New York Adventure: Green Lakes Park & The Craftsmann Inn

So since we are newly weds (kind of), and it’s summer, we decided to take a road trip upstate New York. – Green Lakes State Park in Syracuse, and Niagara Falls in Buffalo. After that night, we were so tired but we decided to go to Green Lakes Park early because we have to drive to Niagara Falls after that. I hope you guys will consider visiting the Green Lakes State Park, and stay at The Craftsmann Inn.
