We only do what your comfortable with. For some people showing skin or adding in some nude shots is empowering, but it’s not for everyone. There is never any pressure to add in those shots, it’s all on your terms! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m so nervous... is that normal? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Yes! I would say a good 90% of the gals I’ve worked with have told me they’re nervous leading up to it. All sessions come with hair and make up to help make your experience special. Starting off with 1.5 hours of hair and make up. Next, we’ll take a look at the outfits and props you’ve brought with you and plan out the order we want to go in. Boudoir: Posing⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So you wanna book a boudoir session but don't know how to pose?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ No problem!!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That's what I'm for (well... one of the things)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You don't need to have any modelling or posing experience to book a boudoir session.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Prior to your session I will have you create a mood board for your shoot. (Pinterest is a great way to make it happen)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This mood board lets me get a feel for the vibe you're wanting, any poses you're interested in doing and just the overall look you'd like.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ From there I can pull poses from your mood board and use similar poses to stick with your vision.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ During the session I will give you detailed instructions to take the thinking out of it for you. What is boudoir?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For those of you who don't know boudoir comes from the French word for a woman's private dressing room.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Boudoir plays off this in the sense that it's photographing a woman in an intimate space. Embracing the vulnerabilities and bringing them to light.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Boudoir helps women celebrate themselves, bring a boost in confidence and allows you to see yourself through the eyes of someone else.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Many of us look in the mirror and don't see the same thing others see when they look at you. Boudoir is an experience that allows you to connect with yourself on a new level and see your beauty both inside and out.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While booking a boudoir session won't heal self-confidence issues, it is a valuable experience for anyone currently on a self-love journey.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When you book a session with me I make sure that everything is as comfortable as possible.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I often refer to myself as more of a lifestyle boudoir photographer. You don't have to wear revealing lingerie or do anything nude.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Boudoir can equally be sweaters and high socks or bodysuits with a button-down or cardigan.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While some women are empowered when they strip down others find empowerment by covering up a little. Money can be hard to talk about!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m going to be honest, it's hard when a potential client tells me I’m out of their budget.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sometimes, when that happens, I question my pricing, my business model, and my worth.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Am I worth it?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ They loved my work and style so what gives?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Just as I start questioning everything I’ll get an inquiry with someone ready to hire me!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One thing I’ve had to learn is to price profitably and be confident about it. Not everyone is going to be able to afford those prices and that's okay.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It costs money to run a business and make a living wage from it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As time goes on I find it gets easier to have that money talk with potential clients but it can be nervewracking.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "What if they think it's too expensive"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "They can probably find someone cheaper"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is why I break it down for them⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ They're not simply paying for the hour-long shoot but they're paying for the time it takes to:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -chat leading up to the session to ensure they're happy⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - do paperwork⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - commute to and from the shoot⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - take the photos⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - cull through the session⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - editing the photos⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not to mention the costs for equipment, location rentals, gas, parking, programs, hard drives and more!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So, the next time someone tells you that you are too expensive, don’t think you're not worth it. Instead be confident in your work and your service, and be proud that you can charge what you need to! (Although I get that can be hard to do!)

How early should I book my boudoir session?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you're wanting to gift your photos or product it's important to leave enough time. While rush orders might be possible, it may add an additional cost to your collection.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How far in advance does your session need to be in order to have the photos or product back in time?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you're just booking a session that includes digital images, I advise giving at least 3-4 weeks between the day of the session and when you're looking to give the photos (i.e. their birthday or your anniversary)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If the photos will be a gift for a holiday such as Valentine's Day or Christmas, your session should be at least 5-6 weeks prior to the holiday.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When it comes to prints, albums and heirloom boxes I suggest booking as early as you can. Leave yourself at least 6 weeks as it takes time to get these custom products from the manufacturer.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While regular prints are faster, and I tend to have some heirloom boxes on hand, anything custom takes time.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Interested in getting the process started?
