One time I saw his high school report card, and the only class he got an ‘A’ in was gym. So right after school he got a job stocking produce at a local food market. If you came into the store today, you’d find him stocking produce, just like he was doing when he was eighteen. On the day my dad got full ownership of the store, he signed over everything to his four kids.
I feel the weight of trying to raise funds to keep going, I feel terrible if there is a request we can’t feel or we have to go on a waiting list for certain items. But just like my village of moms that I have to help me through my family life, I have an amazing village with like-minded providers all over the country. It is a group of providers that truly want to have an impact and will do whatever it takes to give low income families access to essential baby items. So if you see me looking frazzled or tired, I’ve probably heard the word mommy or diapers one time to many that day.
