I am an Irish girl who has always had a passion for travelling and have just recently started blogging my travels! I am from rural Ireland and I moved to London in 2018. I am also a linguist and can speak French and Irish (I was grown up with the Irish language as I was from an Gaeltacht and like to share some words with my readers!). I have joined Perlu to connect with some more people in the industry and hopefully gain some knowledge on how to grow my blog.
We mainly used an app called Grab which is a ride-share app equivalent to Uber (they don’t have Uber yet there) and we never waited more than a few minutes and the fares were reasonable. It wasn’t much of a walking tour as we got a bus everywhere but for each place you got off and walked around to get a better look. The other places we stopped at was the Marina Square which is where you get the best view of the Marina Bay Sands and you also see the famous Merlion statue and get a picture with it. We stayed in Tower 2 and had a Garden View room which was perfect for the garden firework shows at night.
I decided to launch this blog in 2020 (the year of Covid-19) for the simple reason that it was the first year in a long time that I didn’t jet off on many holidays and realised how much I missed it. I studied languages at Trinity College Dublin and while I was in college I went on weekend trips away whenever my part-time job savings allowed me to! French was my major in college and because of this I had to spend a summer living in France and managed to land a job working in Disneyland Paris – which was a dream come through! I really got a buzz for living abroad that summer and decided to go on a J1 work and travel Visa to the US the following summer.
We stayed in Le Meridien LAV hotel for five days and for the last three nights we changed it up and stayed in an Air-BnB up in the mountains that overlooked the entire city. While staying in Le Meridien, we didn’t venture out to the town much as there was restaurants on port that we could go to. When we moved to the Airbnb we went into Old Town Split most nights and found some really nice restaurants and places to drink. And if you out partying in Hvar and want to go out out, Carpe Diem is a nightclub on a little island off Hvar and you get a boat out to it.
Our favourite part about staying here is that you could rent out a cabana for the day overlooking the beach and for a set price it includes your meals too and the waitor brings them over to you to eat there.
