More big announcements soon but for now...It’s been coming for a while, but I’ve officially decided to shift back into playing music again. Many of you have been asking me about this for some time! I miss playing with musicians, writing songs, getting into the studio, making records. I miss my voice soaring through the air for hours! I miss honoring my family’s musical history. This feeling has been stirring in me for a bit, but the calling is too strong to ignore now. I’ll still be performing burlesque, so to my burlesque fans, don’t panic! But, I am making some significant shifts in my focus! It’s just plain time. As much as time is fluid and expands, I need those golden hours of the day to answer my soul’s calling as an artist. I have to make time to art about it. Burlesque is still a part of the picture, but I have to make room for music, which means some big shifts. This week would have been Jason’s 38th birthday and something about his birthday and thinking about how much he believed in me, thinking about him playing acoustic guitar behind me in the band, solidified the idea that it’s time. And the hope that I could start playing music again with my love, @slamrich_ , makes this decision feel even more solid. I’ve been slowly making this shift for a while, making sure it was a sensible shift for me. I have more announcements coming soon, but for now I mostly want to express my gratitude! Jason would be 38 today. I think he’s proud of me 🕊️. Every single day I am aware that I get to be here and he doesn’t. So I live with the privilege of life in my heart. It’s all special, every day. It’s hard to live like this, but it’s also an honor. Happy birthday Jason. I hope heaven remembers they’re supposed to give you a cake made of 🍩 donuts today + a case of beer.
