Bracing for a blizzard! What are you favorite spots to take photos in the snow? Here are a few of my go to spots... 1. Beacon Hill: Acorn St and Louisburg Square are both gorgeous covered in the snow. 2. Boston Public Gardens: the swan boats may be beautiful but I think the public gardens are prettier all covered in snow. The bridge, the frozen pond, bronze statues peeking out from under a blanket of white. 😍 3. Rutland Square: One of my favorite spots in the South End. You have beautiful brownstones mixed with more unique and colorful architecture! 4. Comm Ave Mall: Looking for quintessential Boston? The Comm Ave Mall is the place to be. I like to take my pics in the middle so I have lots of trees with classic Back Bay homes peaking out behind me. Bonus if the Christmas lights are still on! 5. Seaport Waterfront: Change your perspective! Have the city skyline behind you as it gets covered in snow. Go to the corner of North Ave and Sleeper St. then walk along behind the court house for gorgeous city views! What is your favorite place to take snowy pics? Winter uniform: hat, big puffy coat, cute scarf, and great boots! Have definitely been hibernating the last few weeks. Staying home and staying quiet is so important for recharging, refocusing, and getting shit done! Sometimes it is so beneficial to just put your head down and work crazy hard for a few weeks. I recently launched my new website just for my social media marketing services. I have been playing with launching a site separate from my blog for a while now and it feels so great to finally hit publish! That feeling when the clock strikes 12:01 and @joebiden is your president 🇺🇸🍾 I actually wrote a long caption yesterday for this post about all the work still left to do. But this morning I woke up and I was overwhelmed with emotion. I feel so much relief and grief. I feel great sadness because of the attack on our democracy, because Donald Trump has set this nation back years. He has done damage to women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, and has embraced white supremacy. I feel grief for the 400,000 Americans who lost their lives to a pandemic this administration failed to control. But I also feel great triumph because Donald Trump and his supporters have failed. They failed to destroy democracy, they failed to over turn a free and fair election. Today a peaceful transition of power will take place as it has for over 200 years and that is a truly incredible anomaly. There are still many issues that face our country. But today is a new beginning, we have the opportunity to make a better world. Once again there will be someone in the White House who will stand up and say white supremacy is wrong, someone who believes in science and climate change, someone who will support a women’s right to choose, and protect LGBTQ rights. Today for the first time in American history a woman will rise to the Vice Presidency. A woman of color will hold the highest office ever held by a woman. I am so overjoyed that little girls everywhere will grow up in a world where a woman is Vice President, a world where a woman is in a position to lead our nation. When I was little they asked us in Sunday school what we wanted to be when we grew up. Me and another girl got in a fight about which one of us would be the first female president. I hope someday little girls who dream of being president will not have to use the word “first”. Continue fighting for what is right. Continue speaking out and putting pressure on your elected officials. But let yourself feel a few moments of joy today. Because it’s Day 1.
