Gigi Ragland

Gigi Ragland specializes in travel, sustainable topics, culture, food and outdoor recreational writing. Her path began when she worked as a catering manager for a premier caterer in the Napa/Sonoma Wine Valley where her appreciation for all things gourmand and grape-licious was cultivated. She then followed her heart to San Francisco where she worked for a variety of hotels both big and small. Her enthusiasm for hospitality and travel culminated into a desire to write about the great experiences she encountered. Gigi's brain chip overloaded until she was finally able to corral words onto paper and share episodes, scenarios and other assorted travel bits and bites describing her adventures abroad and at home.

After moving to Colorado in 2002, Gigi was offered a job at a travel agency consortium as senior writer for their monthly themed travel editorial newsletter/magazine. She covered leisure, expedition cruises, active outdoor, hotel & resorts, culture and food related travel topics.

Her passion for travel, adventure and the culinary arts has always directed her career. She enjoys freelance writing on a full-time basis. Gigi has published numerous feature, destination and profile articles. She has written for regional, national and international print and online publications. Subjects range from the ordinary to the extraordinary to include culinary getaways, llama trekking to covering green hotel design. She served as the first travel editor for Women's Adventure Magazine from 2012 - 2014. Her articles have appeared in National Geographic Traveler, AARP, AAA EnCompass, American Cowboy, Backpacker, Outside Online, Live Naturally/Optimum Wellness, TravelAge West/Explorer, Denver Life, American Way, Cross Country Skier, Adventure Cyclist, Relish and more.

Her first travel guide book was published in 2012, "Best Easy Day Hikes Oklahoma City," A Falcon Guide. In addition, Gigi hopes to launch her travel blog, La Femme Traveler sometime before the Internet becomes extinct.
