#gongheifatchoi or #happychinesenewyear! 🧨🧨 i have to pay *special* attention to all the superstitions i usually observe as this is the #yearoftheox - my year 🐂 & i want to be sure to get all the #goodluck we can to stomp the year of the plague rat on outta here! . . so, the usual precautions for #chinesenewyear...don't sweep, clean the house, take out the garbage or wash your hair (or you lose luck) are really easy to follow haha! already ate dumplings (for #prosperity), candy (for a sweet year) & will eat noodles (for #longevity) later on. finally, got something red to wear (good luck color) with this new enamel #banglebracelet, plus my cute little ox plushie for extra good luck, continued health & happiness for this coming year! do you celebrate #CNY/LNY? what other traditions do you follow?

oh hey, what do i see there off in the distance? MOAR SNOW that's what! 😢 the last couple winters have been lacking in the snow department, but we've already had 2 snowstorms in the past week with possibly 4 more in a 10-day span. yikes! ❄️ . . i have to admit though...a filipino girl born & raised in hawaii, moved to florida & living in boston the past (whoa!) 30 years, i still prefer the #coldweather to hot. it's like as soon as i moved up here, i became a #dyedinthewool #newenglander through & through! well, off to shovel more snow now haha! #thecoldneverbotheredmeanyway

it's been a long dark tunnel this past year & there's still no end to the tunnel just yet *but* the light at the end is getting bigger & brighter. as a non-urgent, non-COVID-facing healthcare provider, i'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to take the first step to further protect my clients & co-workers. 🙏 thank you to all the efforts of the scientists, frontline healthcare & essential workers, policy makers & yes, even (some) politicians, who got us this far. as someone who usually does the needling, this is quite the role reversal haha! . . and yes, i'm wearing a #coldshoulder #cutout #snakeprint #pussybow top to make it easier & more efficient for the busy doctor to do her important work haha! 😂 #vaccinebutmakeitfashion

i've been making a lot of references to #thedevilwearsprada lately, but hey, if the chanel boots fit...am i right? haha 😄 i watched the movie again for the umpteenth time & i still remember the first time i heard miranda priestly say #cerulean #militaryjacket & i was like, OMG, i have one! it's been over 2 years since i've had a #haircut & about 3 years since i stopped bleaching/dyeing it. 😳 i just get very lazy about cutting hair, but my ends were looking pretty raggedy & were still the remnants of coloring. so, on inauguration day, just before biden was sworn in, i symbolically & literally got rid of dead weight & am starting nice & even! . . this is also the first time i've had all my natural virgin #asianhair since college. feels weird. i've been j. lo blonde, purple & gray most recently, but i'm not inspired by any hair colors out there right now, so why put my hair through the stress? even with all the #grayhairs, feels good to be so low maintenance right now. thanks @vf_socialstylist for the #freshcut!

i miss #printmixing. it's definitely harder to do in the winter when i just succumb to the cold & darkness & wear mostly black all the time. 😥 i think if you want to #printmix, a lot of things go, but i still tend to stick to @timgunn's rules of mixing prints (from years ago) - keeping the color palette & size of your prints the same. that way, you can wear florals for winter. now that's groundbreaking. 😉 . . speaking of groundbreaking, i've never gotten both my current pets in one photo before. can you spot the other one? haha! . . final aside...my dog & skirt are preeeetty old. guess which one is older? happy monday, y'all!
