#ad āTake it off for a good cause.ā When we celebrate our differences, more often than not, we realize how similar we truly are. For the makeup lovers, this means enjoying the shared experience of getting mascara on our eyelid, buying the wrong foundation shade, or maybe walking around all day with lipstick on our teeth. Who else can relate? Personally, Iām guilty of occasionally coming home after a late night and not taking my makeup off. Anyone else? @bliss actually sent me these Limited Edition Makeup Melt Wipes and Iāve been keeping them by my bedside as a reminder. It makes taking makeup off simple, and it's still very gentle on my skin. Plus the brand is cruelty-free! Bliss will donate 100% of net profits (up to $40,000) from these Limited Edition Makeup Melt Wipes to support LGBTQ causes locally and around the world. I encourage you to visit their website, (which will be linked in my bio) for details and how to get involved. #BlissPride
America needs some serious work. Letās continue working on recognizing our internal biases, and find ways to stay advocates for the Black community in our everyday lives. Letās amplify black voices and make sure we are breaking down barriers that prevent opportunity. Iām always looking for ways to improve, and always welcome suggestions and conversations in my DMās. ā¤ļø
BLACK LIVES MATTER. I have a lot of work to do. I havenāt been doing enough to protect Black lives. None of us have. As Iām working to continue educating myself, I was looking through these posts from my first BLM protest in 2016. All of those signs in the 2nd video represent a Black life lost to police brutality as of 07/08/16. Itās a absolute tragedy that almost 4 years have passed and the number of Black lives lost has continued to grow. It is essential that we stay in action, and continue to speak out against this injustice. Staying silent is a disservice. Call your government officials. Donate to organizations that work to combat racism and police brutality. Have those difficult conversations with your family and friends. Attend protests, if you are able to. Utilize educational resources to gain knowledge. Examine your own internal biases. And listen to your Black friends, family, colleagues, classmates, community members. BLACK LIVES MATTER.
Fantasizing about ditching my teeny Manhattan apartment with no common windows or outdoor space for my suburban home with the spacious rooms and the yard with the deck and my dog. As a kid, I always wished my house was a bit bigger, or a bit fancier. But now I realize how great it really is. Plus my mom remodeled after I went off to college fifteen minutes away, but thatās besides the point.
