Hiraeth features a wood-fired kitchen and global cuisine and it’s a great spot for date night! The upstairs bar and seating area is light and airy with huge windows they open when the weather is nice. Downstairs is the same menu but a totally different dark & sexy vibe. You can sit at the downstairs bar with a private bartender, in the main dining room, or at the chefs counter with a front-row view of the wood-fired kitchen in action! Jacob and I both work from home so it’s super important that our house & AC unit is ready for that summer heat. First, we had our annual AC tune up, where they cleaned the unit & checked all connections & internal pressure. Next, we had some indoor air quality products installed to help clean the air circulating through our house. Since I have allergies, we all have sensitive skin, and we have a new babe at home, these products are a game changer with the indoor air quality in our house! They are a jazz bar located in the Short North and a sister concept to @hiraeth_614 and @eatchapmans . They have a small menu filled with bar snacks (perfect for before or after dinner or a full meal), gin-focused cocktails, plus beer & wine too! They host some of the best jazz musicians in the state and it’s truly an amazing experience. Pro tip: you can purchase tickets for the show right up until it starts & they are super affordable (usually $5-$20), so check on their website if you want to stop by! @brasseye at @thejuntohotel has a new Sunday brunch menu and it’s amaaaaazing! My faves were the biscuit tower, the espresso martinis, and the cinnamon bourbon French toast! They have a DJ, gorgeous views, and the best vibes! Make your weekend brunch plans now!

BEST BITES: April 2024 What a fun & busy month we have had! I’ve been lucky enough to eat at some of the coolest & best restaurants in cbus this month (plus a little Chicago action too) so here are the best things we ate: 1️⃣ if you go to @eatchapmans during their current menu, the watermelon aguachile is one of the most creative dishes. It’s not something I would normally order, but WHOA it’s incredible. They somehow get watermelon to taste and feel like fish & its wildddd 2️⃣ literally the BEST chocolate cake I’ve ever tasted in my whole life was from the @loaf_lounge in Chicago. It’s the cake that’s featured in @thebearfx and someday when I’m feeling ambitious I am definitely going to try to make it at home! 3️⃣ we checked out the @brasseye brunch on the rooftop at the @thejuntohotel and this cinnamon bourbon French toast stole the show for me! Sweet breakfast foods are my fave so I definitely can’t wait to order this again! 4️⃣ one of the tastiest things we tried at @hanksseafoodcolumbus was the she-crab soup. It was kinda like a lobster bisque but with crab instead and the flavor was so rich and delish! 5️⃣ we had an incredible dinner at @hiraeth_614 and my favorite dish of the night was definitely the scallops. They were marinated in mezcal and served with a salsa verde and fried leeks! Is anyone else thrilled that it’s finally May and spring is here? I’m forecasting lots of outdoor dining and amazing food in the coming weeks! 🌸
