The first time I dabbled with the idea of God I believed that if I became team God suddenly my circumstances would change and subsequently my life would “improve.” I’d seen it happen for others and I really believed it was an if then statement. The first round was a bust. If anything my life got worse. And as a result I felt God had either deeply rejected and failed me or wasn’t who He supposedly was. So I walked away from the idea. That was 2021-ish. In 2023, the itch to revisit the idea of God came back stronger than I could stand and I began to look into it again. I had some very heavy conversations with God about how much I resented Him, doubted His existence, and felt betrayed by Him. I don’t entirely know how to explain what happened coming out of those moments, but my heart just deeply knew to pursue God beyond my pain. And so I did, continuously, no matter how much it hurt. In that journey I kept saying a prayer. “If you won’t change my circumstances, change my heart.” If this last year reflects anything, it is that God has not yet (or maybe ever) changed my circumstances. In fact I’d say some go a little worse again haha 🫠. But He has changed my heart. My joy this last year wasn’t because life got better, but because it got lighter. I carry nothing alone now. My hope is in the gift of knowing a God who loves me and not in the outcome of my life. And if I could give my friends and family any one gift, it would be to experience that same joy and freedom. That’s why I talk about it all the time. Why I make a thousand cheesy posts lol. And share my life openly to the internet. I want everyone I ever come in contact with to see a little glimpse of just how real and good God is. My life is better because of Him and Him alone. You my IG fam, are SUCH a blessing in my life this last year. I don’t even know so many of you face to face, but we still laugh together, talk about hard things together, just share in life together and I treasure that SO much. I genuinely love you guys. 🫶🏼 Thank you for being here and celebrating this last year with me. 🥹 It was a good year to be alive. ❤️

Can I just say once I finally started dating “outside of my box” and dating for character/personality over “my type” it opened a whole new world to some of the coolest people ever. And I learned from that more about the psychology of why we’re attracted to certain physical characteristics and why a lot of it isn’t actually about a physical feature but more about what that feature conveys.
