Adam planned the majority of my birthday trip, since I planned his, and one of the things he surprised me with was a hot air balloon trip. The funny thing is for the past two years, I’ve fallen in love with taking open door helicopter trips, where you’re zipping literally 150 miles per hour, weaving between major skyscrapers, and yet I never got queasy until I found myself in a hot air balloon basket, going at a brisk three miles per hour. The hot air balloon company told me that it get’s usually around 90 degrees in the air! It’s All Wild to keep me warm in the early morning, but still the right temperature when we got up in that hot balloon.
The cruise embarked in Barcelona, so I spent a day in Barcelona, Spain, before heading out to sea. You can find an Amorino’s in tons of European and Mediterranean countries, but Amorino’s on La Rambla is a must if you are in the area. The last time I was in Barcelona, I went to the plaza and did some hardcore shopping at all four of the H&M’s by La Sagrada Familia. It’s a massive landscaped park to stroll in, where you can enjoy the still and calming sounds of Barcelona away from the city.
It’s crazy because even though I was born in So Cal, I always felt like I was supposed to be in Hawaii, even before I even really knew what Hawaii was. It’s eerily beautiful and you just can’t help but wonder what’s behind the walls, right beyond the cave entrance. I got this photo using a slow shutter in pitch black darkness at night, but I wouldn’t recommend this because this place is suuuuper haunted by ancient spirits and it’s best to respect them if you aren’t with the right people. It’s totally necessary to indulge in a lazy beach day multiple times during your trip to Hawaii.
It’s open super early and serves breakfast until brunch time! I love going there with Hanalei since it’s pet friendly, and theres tons of dogs that love to lay outside on the patio and soak up the sun. *extra*, you know, just to match the fact that I’m going out for brunch like a real adult. I’ve been LOVING all white lately, especially when it’s so hot outside nearing the end of Summer.
