I’m such a creature of change and as much as I love the summer, by the end of it I’ve had enough of summer dresses and hot days. This year we tried a new pumpkin patch, which I’m certain is not new to several Ottawa residents, Miller’s Farm & Market located in the little town of Manotick. Miller’s Farm had so many cute things to do including fun play structures and an Instagram-worthy pumpkin house for posing in. Next on the list, we plan to visit Proulx Farm for their Pumpkinfest, Pumpkin Inferno, and of course Saunder’s Farm for daytime haunting season.
We have been fortunate to have had a plenty of bonding time over the past 4 ½ years, starting with maternity leave and then staying at home after giving birth to Hudson. The ladies at The Children’s Place Daycare where he went for a year loved him, and I loved hearing all the stories he would tell me at the end of each day. It’s funny how so many people asked me if I was putting Jax in full time daycare when Hudson was born. He insisted on a Batman backpack which I found online from The Children’s Place and then based on a friend’s recommendation I purchased the Go Green Lunch Box with the Racing Car carrying case (as per his request).
so I thought, why not a couple of kid-free nights at one of my favourite spots, the Wakefield Mill and Spa! Just a 20-minute drive from downtown Ottawa, the Chelsea Pub is in the lovely town of Chelsea, Quebec and is the quaintest little pub with great beer, food and ambiance. My favourite was La Tortue de Wakefield, a home goods store with the most amazing items for the home, as well as jewelry and children’s toys. One section with a saltwater heated pool and hot tub, and the mill area there is a hot tub and sauna.
’s been a whole year since I started this blogging journey writing this blog post at the beautiful Elysium suites Also, as a new stay–at–home mom it has given me a creative outlet rather than just taking care of the household and kids all the time. What we love about this place is that it’s modern cottage country within a rustic environment on Lac Superior. It has all the amenities of a resort, like gym, tennis courts, saltwater pool, restaurant coming soon and more.
