just another boy mom handling life with iced coffee in one hand while roaming target aisles.
I took the month of January, or should I say the entire first half of 2020, to reflect on my goals like I always do. My sister, Janilly and her husband Logan, for their wedding in November and it was truly a remarkable year, full of love, happiness, memories and Sasha got a bit wasted a few too many times. We had a lot of things happen, we said goodbye to friends (no thanks to the military lifestyle) and found ourselves empty and longing for things to be different. And health literally took its toll on me as I struggled to find a new norm with all my Mayo Clinic crap.
With Lucas being in speech, Alexander in school, Nick at work and my work schedule being what it is - it's hard to really sit down and create any kind of "normal" in our home. I am setting time aside to watch a novela, Santa Diabla, because it's such a past time of mine that I didn't know I missed. It's definitely different watching American soap operas versus Spanish soap operas * I think, now that the boys are 2- and 4- years, respectively, it would be great to start doing some good movie nights, game nights and fun with the boys.
Alexander turns four this month (someone hold me) & it's the same day as my sister who is GETTING MARRIED Next month, My SISTER GETS MARRIED (see pictures for her beautiful bridal shower) We also go up to New York City for said sister in law & brother in laws baby shower (ALREADY!) For the rest of October we have to get suits & things tailored, we have to venture on out to little halloween type things & fall type things before I hole myself up to hide from the snow (submit fear face here.. seriously) and we get ready to welcome holiday season.
we walked around Target (I KNOW I KNOW) & dined at Paladar Latin Kitchen in Annapolis where we enjoyed some great food and the boys had flan for the first time! I needed every day to feel like my 30th birthday day, although, I could probably do without the urgent care trip. So this is my promise to me, to my boys, to my husband, my sisters, parents and close framilys (friends that are family - I'll trademark that shortly). Here's to our adventures in the next year, our memories & moments, our firsts, our WTF's, food, iced white mochas & lemonades, Hawaiian sweet rolls & my unnecessarily loud vibrating phone, here's to my family (near & far), to my team at work, to my boys (all 5 of you - husband 2 kids and 2 dogs - don't read into that...seriously)
