Amazing #turkish cuisine at @aghaturkishrestaurant at Lakeshore Port Credit. Authentic kepap, hot off the grill and melt in your mouth #pide. The restaurant itself has a nostalgic vibe that reminds you of the #spicebazaar and romanticises the bygone era of Constantinople! ❤️❤️ and #repeat for sure. Musakhan from Yasmin Khan’s cookbook ZAITOUN . I’ve always wanted to try this but never got the chance. In fact I’ve also never eaten it before today. It’s one of those under rated treats, the unsung hero of any Palestinian dinner feast. . The recipe is simple (scroll right) and extremely accurate! I was missing sumac and pine nuts, but just went with the flow to omit them. Turned out amazing even without. I also added sweet peppers just like the onions to “up” the veggies (y’know, the pounda veggies a day is still going on 😉) . This one will be on repeat as well the next time you come to my house for dinner, it will be gracing center stage . Do try 😊 . Just made these amazing Falafels in the oven. K is not home today so the cat (aka mommy) will play. You may know K is G6PD positive which is basically an allergy to a protein that’s found in lentils, beans and peas. So daal chawal, pakorey, besan ki curry and mutur pulao are all a thing of the past. . However today being the second day of Bakra Eid, I decided to pay homage to myself by trying out these Falafels from @loveandlemons #notfried . I have to say I was a bit skeptical as chickpeas tend to be very dry and I could not imagine a baked falafel, but these turned out amazing ❤️❤️❤️ . I’ll post the recipe link in my story right now .
