Yesterday, I set out to do a 5k. It was more of a hike than a run thanks to a wrong turn that took us on a different trail than I had planned, but it was still great! Despite the difficult circumstances our country is facing right now, I’m consistently amazed at the good and the helpers that are emerging from this situation. . Our local hardware store, HomCo, usually has builders events in their stores on the 3rd Saturday of each month. This week, the event is understandably canceled so they prepped the project kits and allowed parents to come by to pick them up. . While the rest of the US is buying groceries, we are over here just trying to get out of Wyoming! 🤣 . 2 days ago we had to stop driving early due to dangerous winds. 🌬 . Yesterday, we woke up to heavy snow and roads closed due to more dangerous winds and blow over risk. ❄️ 🌬 . Today? We spent most of today driving right into another snowstorm. We had planned to stop earlier but there was zero cell signal and zero wifi and we can’t be unreachable right now. So, on we went.⛄️ ❄️ . I can’t say I really want to repeat that driving experience, but we made it out of Wyoming! This storm is rolling in fast and fierce but we found a great city park in Meeker, CO with electric hookups for $20! There’s always something to be grateful for! 🤩 . Tomorrow is another long driving day! Tonight? We needed to escape the stress of big decisions today, so we ventured out to explore Devil’s Tower National Monument, and it was absolutely perfect. . We hiked through ice and snow for 2.5 hours and just under 3 miles. We scrambled on rocks, watched prairie dogs play, and stopped to read the history signs. We enjoyed the views and took time to soak in everything all around us. I think Anakin said it best when he said “This is the best playground ever!” . Sometimes the best thing you can do is set everything aside and unplug. Mini-Life update: . We’ve been quiet over here again. We’ve been hunkering down a bit more than usual this winter as we take care of lots of everyday life things like schoolwork and laundry. . Also, because Wyoming is cold, windy and snowy!! 🥶⛄️❄️ . We aren’t sure at this moment of much of anything! We may be leaving on our next adventure soon, but we aren’t actually sure where we will be headed. . It could be viewed as stressful, and sometimes it is, but if we’ve learned anything in our 5 years traveling fulltime it is that the difference between an ordeal and an adventure is attitude. . For now, we’re embracing the snow and getting all the life chores done so we can do a whole lot more adventuring when the sun comes out or wherever the road leads next! Archer’s 3rd Birthday has officially been celebrated! 🎂

This birthday boy has been asking to build a snowman since he first saw the snow in January, while we were briefly in AZ. We kept telling him that where we were headed there would be plenty of snow! He patiently waited and waited, and while it did snow, it wasn’t enough to build much of anything. . Imagine his surprise when he woke up on his birthday to SNOW! Not just any snow; soft, fluffy and packable snowman building snow! . It’s safe to say that his birthday is already a success and we are just getting started with the fun! . Happy Birthday, sweet Archer! Today you are 3 years old and I can hardly believe it! You are such a gift to our family! You keep us laughing and silly. You announce everything that makes you happy!
