Priya is a Family Travel Writer & Photographer, who is always trying to escape the Suburbs to find cool places, nice hotels, modern art and flower fields. She believes traveling is not about counting countries or passport stamps but instead about making memories.
Santa Fe is famous for its museums — New Mexico Museum of Art, Museum of International Folk Art, IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts (MoCNA is the country only museum for contemporary Native artists), New Mexico History Museum at the historic Palace of the Governors, and my favorite, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum (which houses more than 3,000 her works) located behind the Eldorado Hotel. Canyon Road is truly a feast for the eyes: Many of the galleries on Canyon Street are housed in historic adobe buildings with brilliantly colored windows, and public art installations are often showcased outside. The best way to experience this art district is simply by strolling down Canyon Road to admire all the public art Santa Fe is an excellent place for art lovers to spend a weekend enjoying the many museums, galleries, and art experiences.
Madeira Island is World’s and Europe’s Leading Island Destination 2020 according to World Travel Awards. It has been on my travel wishlist for some time, so here is a complete guide to the best things to do, see and eat in Maderia, Portugal including popular well known attractions, hidden gems, and the best place to see flowers. Fajã da Rocha do Navio in Santana, Fajã dos Padres or Fajã da Quebrada Nova in Achadas da Cruz – three different secluded areas located by the ocean, which are very hard to reach as they are located on the bottom of very high cliffs. During this week’s long event, there are daily concerts, dance performances, flower exhibitions and all sorts of flower-related attractions, flower markets selling flower bulbs, exotic fruit and even street carpets made of flower petals.
Starting in the East by the German border, we have the Alsace/Lorraine Region, known for its exceptional white wine cépage, they produce great Riesling & Gewurztraminer wines. Stuck between the Pyrenees mountain range and the Bordeaux region up North, the South West Region is the land of the cabernets wines. Last but not least the largest wine region of France, the Loire Valley, also known as the other Champagne region due to its ever-improving production of quality bubbly from Chardonnay cépage. Contrast pairing: pick a wine which aromas will pair with your food, sweet and salty, tannic and spicy (as in spices), sweet and spicy (as in hot) Overall, the wine regions of France are undoubtedly some of the best and most famous in the world.
The ancient city of Nara is known for its beautiful temples, the 15m-high Bronze Buddha statue, and sacred deer that bow for biscuits. But the deer at Nara Park are still protected and the Nara Park deer are designated as national treasures. Nara Park is beautiful year-round (we visited in December), but especially beautiful in Spring when cherry blossoms are blooming. Woke up to a foggy morning and for a moment thought I was in one of my favorite places... I have fond memories of taking the blue heritage train that still runs on a steam railway line, visiting tea estates, gardens, and hiking... Also known as Udhagamandalam, Ooty is a hill station( mountain resort town) in the Western Ghats mountains, in South India. It is called the Queen of Hills for a reason. Have you been? More photos on the blog if you haven’t... Just search for Ooty #ooty #travelmemories #flashbackfriday #queenofhills #tamilnadu #incredibleindia #ootydiaries #chennai
What a historic day 🇺🇸 What a moving ceremony ✨ ... yes, we are far from polished, far from pristine, but that doesn’t mean we are striving to form a union that is perfect. We are striving to forge our union with purpose. To compose a country committed to all cultures, colors, characters and conditions of man. And so we lift our gaze, not to what stands between us, but what stands before us. We close the divide because we know to put our future first, we must first put our differences aside... - Amanda Gorman #inauguration2021 #historywasmade #ceilingsbroken #presidentialinauguration #unitedstatesofamerica🇺🇸
Another great Restaurant in Plano with a lovely outdoor patio and amazing food - @forkandfireplano Located below Highway 121 @boardwalkgranitepark has many restaurants with patios and chairs around a little lake to enjoy some of that Texas sunshine. I had a Fiery pineapple Margarita with muddled jalapeños and Mr. Suburbia had an old fashioned. The Pastrami eggrolls with gruyere, pickles and kraut were delish. So were the burgers and flatbread at this scratch kitchen. Now you can get your drinks to go from one of the many restaurants here to enjoy at the boardwalk. #planorestaurants #boardwalkplano #forkandfire #dallasfoodie #dallasrestaurants #planotexas
Brunching 🥂 I find myself @whiskeycake quite often lately, Mr. Suburbia likes the Egg Benedict and French Press coffee here, they have a nice outdoor patio that has heaters, the drinks are delicious... wish they had a few more options for vegetarians. #planotexas #planorestaurants #brunch #dallas #dallasrestaurants #friscotexas #vegetarian
Made it through another week of 2021 and dreaming of somewhere warm and blue! This was the Presidential water bungalow we saw as we approached our little villa @conradboraboranui How amazing would it be to wake up here on this multi level overwater villa with turquoise lagoon views, sun beds, an infinity pool, fully stocked mini bar and a personal butler. I’m dreaming big today 😉 What places are you dreaming of visiting? #overwaterbungalow #borobora #frenchpolynesia #moorea
Well, that snow from yesterday didn’t stick around... but it had me thinking about this place in Japan where we saw ❄️ and lots of it! Shirakawa-go is a group of a beautiful, historic villages remotely located in Gifu Prefecture, which is situated in the Japanese Alps. Gassho-zukuri is a unique architecture style special for this area of Japan. They are steep straw-roofed homes made of wood. Due to harsh and unforgiving winters with a lot of snow, the roofs of the houses are steeply angled to prevent the snow from piling up. Was a beautiful day trip filled with gorgeous scenery and lots of snow ❄️❄️❄️ . ———————————————————— 👭Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest: OutsideSuburbia 📝More travel stories, itineraries and photos at OutsideSuburbia.com ———————————————————— #japan #japanesealps #shirakawago #osinjapan #winterwonderland #wanderfolk #traveldeeper #lifewelltravelled #luxurytravel #iamatraveler #familytravel #luxurytravelblogger
