I'm Megan, a Wisconsin native currently working my way around the US one national park at a time. Most of my time is split between Utah and Florida with lots of driving between the two and my hometown. You can probably find me reading, napping, or out in the parks.
What is your favorite place/thing to do/see in South Dakota?⠀ ⠀ Today we’ve got a South Dakota appreciation post for you! ⠀ ⠀ My favorite things are all in the Black Hills but I love the bison 🦬, the prairie dogs 🐕 (I know that’s a real dog but it was my only option), the needles Highway 🪡, and the Cathedral Spires trail ⛪️!
It’s Fungus Friday and you know what that means! Just more pictures of mushrooms since we haven’t had any for so long! ⠀ ⠀ Also, whenever I read or write mushroom I read/write it as mushroom first. It’s so weird. And when I read chef I read it with the CH like in much or cheese. Every. Single. Time.
S E A S P E C I M E N S⠀ ⠀ Do you like finding sea specimens?⠀ ⠀ I just watched the episode of Always Sunny where they go to the Jersey Shore and Charlie collects seas specimens with the waitress before we went to the beaches in Florida and I called everything that wasn’t shells sea specimens that week. ⠀ ⠀ So here are some sea specimens (and shells) from southwest Florida! And that first crab is alive, I think he looks like a monster but I love it. ⠀ Also, if you’re ever at the beach and see sand dollars sitting on a bench or on a sand pile like I shared here, those are yours for the taking. ⠀ ⠀ I always wondered and finally asked on Facebook and everyone said they leave them because they have so many or can’t bring them home because they’re fragile! ⠀ ⠀ I just want to say sea specimens as much as possible here now 😂
With all this effort I put into national park week, here are ten more pictures from parks I love!⠀ ⠀ 1. Glen Canyon (again, totally different part of it) 2. Wind Cave 3. Black Canyon of the Gunnison 4. Grand Teton 5. Big Bend 6. White Sands 7. Canyonlands 8. Sunset Crater Volcano 9. Big Cypress 10. Everglades
It’s almost the end of national parks week and I haven’t shared anything yet! I don’t have anything profound to share, but I will share a bunch of national park pictures from the last year today! ⠀what national parks have you been to in the last year? ⠀ 1.⠀Glen Canyon 2.⠀Zion 3.⠀Cedar Breaks 4.⠀Grand Staircase Escalante 5.⠀Wupatki 6.⠀Bandelier 7.⠀Carlsbad Caverns 8.⠀New River Gorge 9.⠀Blue Ridge Parkway 10. Cuyahoga valley
VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION TODAY! When you read do you ever notice a random thing in the book you’re reading that was the same as the last one you read?⠀ ⠀ Like book A and B have a character named Audrey then books B and C book took place in Vermont and C and D both have a labradoodle? This happens to me alllll the time and right now the connection is a main character WITH ONLY ONE EYE! What are the chances I read two books in a row with a one eyed main character!? ⠀ ⠀ I think about this all the time and have always wondered if it happens to other people but have never asked anyone else until today so now I’m asking everyone 😂
Just some unedited-from-the-phone pictures from a spontaneous drive through Arizona yesterday! We went from lake Powell to almost the White Pocket (😍) to Jacob Lake (not even a lake) to Marble Canyon to Lee’s Ferry to (technically) the Grand Canyon and back to lake Powell! It was quite the adventure and I’m glad I finally got to see a lot of these things even if we didn’t hike at all
I always show you the swamps and critters and Florida but how bout that beach 😍 ⠀ ⠀ What is your favorite beach in Florida? ⠀ ⠀ I don’t know if I could pick just one but Caladesi Island State Park was pretty high up there. Not really for shelling, I’d still say Cape San Blas for that but just look at that!
