Rolling Along With Kids

This place also offers lots of family-friendly activities that will absolutely give you the best bonding moments together. The Sacred Monkey Forest, also known as Ubud Monkey Forest, is the haven for the Balinese long-tailed monkey, scientifically named as Macaca Fascicularis. Cycling around Bali may seem like an unsettling activity to do, (especially when you have kids with you) but it’s actually fun and perfect for all ages. Undoubtedly, staying in the palatial Villa Bumi Artura is significantly the best way to achieve a marvelous family vacation in Ubud, Bali.

Movies and books featuring Bali

I love that at the end of the book there is a glossary of Indonesian words translated to English that are used throughout the book. Beautifully written and a lot of fun to read, this book is suited for kids aged 8 years and older. The book also conveys a realistic portrayal of everyday life and current affairs by looking at recent events that include the double bombings, the arrest of prominent drug lords, and the modern challenges facing the island and its people. My favourite part of the movie takes place in Bali  on a famous rice field where the six heroes meet a group of indigenous people that perform an epic and very mystical dance, which is based on the authentic Balinese traditional dance called Kecak.

Bali Treetop Adventure Park Review

With a large group of 17 people visiting Bali to celebrate a family event, we chose Bali Treetop Adventure Park because it catered for our whole group ranging from 4 years up to 50 years. If the children were tall enough to reach the zip line they were allowed to do the circuit and with our four year old more than 120cm from the tip of his hand raised up to his toes, we were sure he could do both the Squirrel Circuits (yellow and green). To reinforce the clipping and un-clipping of the safety harness, an adult from our group followed him though the yellow level three or four times. Because Ronan is a tall seven year old and had no fear, he also completed the orange zip line with me closely supervising.

Rolling Along With Kids

During this difficult time of the Covid Pandemic, Bali is suffering due to the lack of tourism that many Balinese rely on to help feed their families. They also now provide care packages for families during the Covid crisis and you can donate through the Go Get Funding page or check out their website link above for details to transfer funds. There is a Go Fund Me account or their Facebook page has info on how to donate via PayPal and an Indonesian bank account (I have details below about using TransferWise for this.) The expat team at Project Nasi are doing amazing work helping to deliver essentials like rice, noodles, cooking oil, basic cooking condiments, fresh local fruit and vegetables, drinking water, water filters, soap, sanitizer, face masks, gloves, etc. which has been given to the local Banjars to distribute to their communities.
