I'd love your opinion on this upcoming project! We have strong mid century bones in our 1950 home (clean lines, original fireplace, flat roof). I'm going to amplify the clean lines with a wood accent wall around our fireplace that will run across the whole wall. I'm torn between horizontal and vertical! 2020: the year of the driveway. Also, video games, buckets of paint, and ALL THE SNACKS. 🎮🖌🎨🥤 Today we documented this chapter with photos on the driveway. We've celebrated birthdays, enjoyed carry-out (take-away for those of you not in USA 😉) meals, watched movies on the projector, and had many emotional conversations with friends and family all on the driveway 6 ft apart. My Oliver received this handmade blanket as a gift when he was born. It is basically an extra appendage of his. He proudly took it to preschool show and tell so many times that his teacher would say "Oh, how wonderful you! You brought your blankie again!" every time. When I wash it I can count on him asking "Mom, where's my polka dot blankie!?" and it's almost always touching his face as he sleeps. DIY black Christmas tree update: 2 years ago I spray painted our artificial tree black. I flipped it upside down and sprayed in sections making sure I got it from every angle. I started off with a $20 budget, ran out of paint, and ended up using 8 cans for $32. What I would have done differently is sprayed it in the fall to let it air out in warmer weather for at least a week before bringing it in the house. I would definitely tackle this again! I love me a good DIY transformation with items I already own. ♻️ This year I ordered lights with black cords and I'm loving it! Our master bathroom BEFORE AND AFTER! 👏 The before shot was from the real estate listing in 2007. Today I deep cleaned (see stories 🧼), spray painted the mirror black, and added my grandma's handmade shower curtain made from a repurposed bed sheet.
