It felt like we were on holiday when we went on the @phdockyard Harbour Tour over the Easter Holidays! We bought an annual pass last year and returned this time to visit a few more attractions. Hoping to plan at least another trip before our pass runs out. It's a great day out - even better when the sun is shining! I'll pop a reel on here soon so you can get an idea of the things you can see.
[AD - Gifted] With the Easter holiday fast approaching I know it’s going to be tricky to keep the boys busy while both Mr H and I are working from home. They will want lots of screen time (obvs) but we’ll also be encouraging them to get some fresh air and play outside as well as do some other activities that are screen-free. K’Nex is a great activity that both the boys can get stuck into. It allows them to get creative and make all sorts of 3D creations and is something that will hold their attention for longer than just a few minutes! Day 8 of covid and I'm not going to lie, I am missing being able to squeeze these two. Mother's Day was rather different this year, they made me breakfast and left it at the door along with the card they had bought. I don't think I've ever experienced tiredness like this before but I am "hopefully" turning a corner now. I spent most of the weekend resting and feel so much better for it. *Pic was taken back in February at Great Nanny's 100th Birthday.

I had a poll on my stories earlier this week asking for help on which colour vinyl to go for to change the colour of our IKEA TV unit. Before redecorating, the living room had a blue theme but now we've updated the room, the blue doors are completely out of place. Which would you go for? I'm trying to take it easy but it's easier said than done. When Mr H told the boys I had it, their first reaction was "Whose going to cook dinner?" Thanks, boys! 🤣
The sun is making an appearance this week which means I can hang my washing out on the line! The boys are loving the sun too, they even had an early morning kickabout in the garden before school today. Are you enjoying the warmer weather?
I can't believe its almost been a month since M turned 9. He was so happy to be able to have a proper party this year so I pulled out all the stops and made this @janespatisserie chocolate drip cake and it went down a treat! I love using Jane's recipes, I find them clear, concise and easy to follow. I'm already thinking about what cake to bake for Easter.
I can't even begin to express my thoughts and feelings on what is going on in the world right now. I worry about the future the boys are growing up in and I can't bear to watch any of the footage on the news. It's utterly heartbreaking. I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling pretty helpless and at a loss of what we can do to help. I've donated to the Ukraine appeal through @savechildrenuk (link to donate in my bio) I've also seen that there are local Facebook groups that have started collecting donations for refugees so it's worth finding one local to you if you want to help out.
My boys are growing up fast! This pic was taken in the summer when we spent the week in Devon/Cornwall. SO much has happened since then. E started secondary school in September, Christmas (and we got to see family this year!) and M turned 9. Hello! I took a bit of an unintended break over here on the grid. I fell out of love with Instagram again (although I have been on Stories). I don't know why I have such a love/hate relationship with IG but there you go. Anyway, life got busy and I found that I didn't miss posting on the grid. I'll probably be posting sporadically as I navigate my way back into the IG world as I feel like its changed a lot over the last few months. Users are much preferring reels and video content aren't they?
You can’t go to Cornwall and not have Cream Tea can you? I have to be honest, one of my main requests for our holiday was that we fitted this into our schedule and it was SO worth it! We went and did Adventure Golf at @chinafleetcountryclub beforehand and then we all had the full cream tea works - the best part is always the clotted cream. The real question is, do you put jam or cream on first?
**HOLIDAY** We had a week off mid-August and spent it going around Dorset and Cornwall with some friends. I cannot tell you just how nice it was to be able to go away again and not have to think about work or ways to try and entertain the boys whilst working! This photo was taken on Woolcombe Beach and was the first (cold) beach day of our holiday. The boys didn’t seem to care though and still had a splash and even tried body boarding. Did you go away this summer?
It feels like forever ago that we went away properly (I think it was December 2019 when we were in North Wales for Christmas) so we were definitely overdue to have some fun last week. We went on a little tour around Dorset/ Cornwall staying in Premier Inns. Check my highlights/stories for what we get up to - holiday spam will be incoming.

[AD] We’re halfway through the summer holidays already - it can be hard trying to juggle everything and keep the kids happy can’t it? I’ve sent the boys off to @barracudas_activity_day_camps a few times this summer as they love all that they have to offer. There’s a range of activities to choose from every day and the chance to make new friends too. There are still spaces available for camp and you’re not tied in to do a full week either as you can pick and choose dates that suit you depending on availability.
