I get asked how I do it all the time and I tell people that I’m just trying to get through moment by moment…day by day. The thing is, there is no perfect balance. It really doesn’t exist. This week, I’m going on a work trip and my husband will have 3 kids and work to manage. Once I come back, I’ll have things to catch up on at home but I’m well aware of that. So often, we have this idea of achieving that PERFECT balance and when we can’t achieve it because it’s just not realistic, we beat ourselves up over it. Friends, no one can do it all. If they make it seem easy, trust me that behind closed doors, there are hard moments and sacrifices that are not shared on social media. Be kind to yourself and know that it’s OK. Here are some ways we are getting ready for back to school: You can never have enough storage bins! The biggest lesson I learned from the last school year was that school work and other papers pile up FAST. If you don’t have a place for them, you bet you’ll find them around your house all the time. Also, kids bring home borrowed books all the time! They have library days and it’s hard not to get those books mixed in with our own books so using these clear connecting bins placed right above their backpacks will hopefully eliminate losing books or returning them late! Having a designated homework cart or school cart is so useful with all the supplies they may need without having to look around the house for them! Every month, I set a goal that seems pretty easy to achieve…to take these monthly milestone pictures on the actual day he hits them. We’re now 6 months in…and well, we haven’t hit this goal yet. Anyway, WHAT a milestone. He’s halfway to being ONE! Six months = personality boom! He is definitely a foodie in the making. Tried avocados as his first solids and he did not love it like his big brother did! It has been a fun month for AJ. He was so good on his first road trip (11 hrs each way) — visited Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and of course, he was teething hardcore while traveling resulting in poor sleep for a few weeks! His top FOUR teeth came through upon coming back home and he’s been sleeping through the night since! On sleep training: we haven’t really done this with our third baby. I just can’t do it this time around but he’s honestly getting the sleep thing without us having to consider doing this! On personality: oh does he let us know when he wants what!! The baby coos turned into screams 🤣 screeching in excitement too. He’s so engaged with his big sibs and it is the cutest to watch! Are we tired? A million times yes but I have seriously never been happier.
