I know it’s only October, but Thanksgiving , Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanza will be here before we know it and with all that 2020 has thrown at us, Of course, Amazon.com knows that, too and delivers its Prime Members some “incredible savings on products from small business and top brands” on its Prime Days, October 13 & 14, 2020. Yes, so I’m here to help you fill your cart with all those Travel Essentials!
While the girls were cooling off, I ordered us some twice cooked yuca fries with sea salt, honey drizzle, and cilantro-lime dipping sauce and a Tito’s Strawberry Lemonade for me. I fell in love with yuca fries at a boutique hotel in Vero Beach, FL about 6 years ago and since then, if they’re on the menu, I’m probably going to order them. The Farmhouse Salad at Canvas Lake Nona is a delicious combination of rustic greens, soft-boiled egg, goat cheese, candied bacon, radishes, and housemade granola, gently tossed in a warm maple-honey vinaigrette. With a commitment to sourcing menu items from local farms and retail items from local makers, Canvas Restaurant and Market provides customers great food, unique merchandise, and a way to feel good about contributing to the Lake Nona community.
My older daughter and her boyfriend were on the sharing plan, too so she ordered an egg breakfast with bacon and he ordered The Truckload Platter – three (chocolate chip) pancakes, three eggs, bacon, sausage links, home fries, and toast. Both egg orders, medium and over well were cooked perfectly, and the home fries were yummy with a pinch of salt. With one server and two cooks, breakfast overall took a little longer than we would have liked, but the coffee was amazing, the company was even better, and we want to support our local, family owned businesses.

🌺Easter Sunday-Funday, Recipe Post! 🌺 Happy Easter ✝️ and Happy Passover Everyone! 🐣🐰We’ve been in lockdown mode for almost four weeks now, so while I do have an upcoming post about 🍂Thanksgiving travel 🍁- stay tuned! - for the first time EVER, today’s post is a recipe! Have you seen the viral post on TikTok for the 5 ingredient peanut butter cookies? 🍪 Today I got inspired to make a nut-free version using sunflower seed butter 🌻and they are AMAZING! So, here is your free #coronabaking inspiration: Ingredients : 1 cup sunflower seed butter (@sunbutter ) 1 cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 large egg 3/4 cup old fashioned oats 1/4 cup raisins, chopped 1/4 cup dried cranberries, chopped Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix first four ingredients together, then fold in the oats, raisins, and dried cranberries. Drop or gently roll into 1” balls and place on parchment paper lined cookie trays. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Let cool 1-2 minutes. Cookies are quite delicate, so use large spatula to gently relocate from pan to rack. Makes 14-18 cookies. And there you have it!
