The pollen in NC has been absolutely crazy the past few years and for me who has insane allergies, it has been super hard. So, I need to tell you all a story. In the past couple of years, my allergies have gone to a completely new level. I have always had bad allergies but my eyes were never really affected until maybe about 3 years ago. Now, during the springtime, they feel like they are on fire. I find myself constantly rubbing them and unable to wear makeup bc I would rub it away or the tears would make it look like I was channeling my youthful emo days with my eyeliner running down my face. I am back with another skincare review! #firstaidbeautygiftedme their Facial Radiance Pads and my skin is definitely more radiant. These pads are designed to help exfoliate, tone, and brighten your skin. They are safe for daily use by all skin types including my sensitive and acne-prone skin. You simply wipe the pad on your face and neck once or twice a day after cleansing your face. I personally use it once a day first thing in the morning, after washing my face, but before applying my makeup. I feel it gives a nice foundation for my makeup application. If you are like me and have super sensitive skin, I suggest starting by using this every two days or so because it contains glycolic acid (I do want to mention though, it does not sting like some other products I used that contained glycolic acid). On the days you don't use it, I suggest using a good moisturizer to help your skin. After doing this for about a week and a half I then switched to being able to use this once every day. It actually took the place of my regular everyday toner. After use your asking will feel clean, refreshed, exfoliated, and smoother. So what makes it work? Well, it contains cucumber and Indian gooseberry which helps tone your skin. It also contains lemon peel and licorice root that leaves your skin bright and glowing. The Glycolic and Lactic acids help your skin appear brighter and with improved texture. They are also free of parabens, harsh chemicals, and colorants. This product also earned a clean seal from Sephora. Overall, I am pretty impressed with this product from @firstaidbeauty and the way it makes my skin look and feel. There is nothing that I love more than watching the creativity of my children. One of the biggest gifts as a mom is to watch your child's mind go to places you never imagined. We recently started playing @animalcrossing_official as a family and Brayden has really taken a liking to it. They have what is called a Flimsy Axe in the game and he wanted to create it in real life so he looked around our yard for items he could use to make it. Low and behold his imagination soared and he created this custom flimsy axe. He always amazes me with his creativity and I can't wait to see what he makes next. Okay, so today I am going to get a bit vulnerable with you all... I have been in such a funk lately. I want so badly to be that strong and confident female and an amazing role model for my kids but some days I just can't no matter how hard I try... I came across a photo of myself on my Timehop the other day after being on a diet for over a year pre-COVID. I worked so hard and lost over 40 pounds. I still had self-esteem issues and as much as I fight to not have them I think that is something I will always have to suffer with. Anyway, seeing that picture and what I am today got me all up in my feelings. I worked so hard to get where I was and to lose all that weight only to stress eat myself back into gaining it all back. I look in the mirror now and hate what I see. I feel fat. I feel ugly. I feel like I have no control over my actions. I hate myself for feeling like this and then just get stressed all over again. It is a vicious cycle that I just can't seem to get out of. I remember a day when stress made me not eat and I have no idea how over time it became the exact opposite. Some days are good and some days are bad. Lately the bad has just been outweighing the good. I am my own worst enemy and my brain tells me that people don't want to see me and all my disgustingness and that I should just hide from the world. I have had some sort of body dysmorphia for as long as I can remember and some days I just don't know how to make it stop. I have literally let my own judgment of myself prevent me from going after things that I really want then I think to myself why am I like this? I in no way am looking for sympathy or anything of that sort in this. I just use this platform as my modern-day LiveJournal and I know that I am not the only one who goes through these emotions. I am going to continue to try and force myself to have higher self-esteem for myself and my kids. It is hard. It is SUPER hard. But we are all a constant work in progress, right?
