In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, there’s a little piece of paradise called the Azores. 🏝️ We just spent 12 days exploring this stunning archipelago. I think it might be the most underrated travel destination in Europe. If you like nature and beautiful landscapes, you would love this place. 💚 A few things to know about the Azores: 🇵🇹 It’s an autonomous region of Portugal and consists of 9 islands. 🌿 The climate is subtropical and it rains quite a lot, which keeps the nature super lush and green. 🩵 There are blue hydrangea flowers everywhere. 🌋 Thanks to their volcanic origin, there are black sand beaches, hot springs, crater lakes and unique volcanic landscapes. ⛰️ It’s often referred to as the Hawaii of Europe. Have you heard of the Azores before? #azores #açores #visitportugal #azoresislands #saomiguel #nature #drone #djimini3pro #travelinspo
Save this spot for your trip to the Azores 🌅 This is one the best places to watch the sunset on the island of São Miguel. There’s a beautiful beach with volcanic sand, turquoise water and green surroundings but my favorite part was these massive sea stacks. I wonder what the view is like from the top of them 😍 📍Praia dos Mosteiros #azores #saomiguel #sunsetlovers #islandlife #visitportugal #blacksandbeach #volcanicbeach
We went for a walk in this little valley not really expecting much but it blew our minds - super lush nature, a beautiful waterfall and gorgeous blue hydrangeas everywhere you look. 💙 Also, we lucked out and somehow had this place almost entirely to ourselves. I love finding hidden gems like this. 🫶🏼 📍Cascata do Limbo, Sao Miguel, the Azores #azores #saomiguelisland #visitazores #visitportugal #açores #waterfall #nature
Can’t believe it’s already been a year since we did the Acatenango volcano hike in Guatemala. 🥹🌋 It’s a surreal experience to see a lava-spewing volcano in front of you. I still get goosebumps thinking about those views. If you’re interested in doing this epic hike, I have a detailed guide on my blog with all the information you need to plan your hike! Have you ever seen molten lava? Let me know where, so I can add it to my list of places to visit! 😍 #acatenango #volcanohike #visitguatemala #adventuretravel #outdoorsy #girlswhohike
This small park in Copenhagen is called Langelinie and every year for a few weeks in April it turns into a cherry blossom wonderland. 🌸 Another great spot to see these beautiful blooming trees in Copenhagen is the ‘Cherry Alley’ in Bispebjerg Cemetery. Both of these places get packed in the weekends so if you want to avoid the crowds, show up early or visit during the workweek. Save this post for your Copenhagen spring trip! 🇩🇰 #sakura #visitcopenhagen #visitdenmark #ilovecph #cherryblossom #springindenmark #copenhagenlife #langelinie
A place where majestic mountains, turquoise fjords and waterfalls meet 💚 A few moments from the Silent Trollfjord Cruise by @brimexplorer that we did last summer on the Lofoten Islands. ⛰️ This fairytale-like place is the most famous fjord in Lofoten and a perfect example of Norway’s amazing natural beauty. Besides all the epic views, what I loved about this cruise was Brim Explorer’s focus on sustainability and environmental protection. Their tours are carried out on hybrid-electric catamarans with silent engines so there’s minimal impact to the wildlife and the environment. 🫶🏼 If you’re planning a trip to Norway this spring/summer and you’d like to book this cruise (or any of @brimexplorer ‘s other boat tours in Norway), use my discount code ‘smoothescape’ to get 5% off! | AD P.S. Location at the end 📍🗺️ This amazing archipelago above the Arctic Circle is definitely worth the journey! One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to. 🫶🏼 #norway #northernnorway #lofoten #lofotenislands #norwegiansummer #arcticcircle #outdoorlover
What summer looks like in the French Alps 🏔️ Snow-capped mountain peaks, dreamy alpine meadows, shimmering lakes, amazing hikes and jaw-dropping views of Mont Blanc - this is what you can expect when visiting Chamonix in the French Alps. Due to current border closures, I only got to visit Iguazu Falls from the Brazilian side but once the borders open, it is highly recommended to visit both the Brazilian and Argentinian side as they offer a completely different perspective. Due to all the mist from the waterfalls, it’s very likely that you’ll get soaked when visiting Iguazu Falls so take care of your camera and phone, and bring a waterproof poncho if you mind getting wet. There’s a high chance that you’ll see some animals when you’re visiting Iguazu Falls, since the surrounding national park is home to a variety of wildlife. Start your 10 days in Brazil by flying to Rio de Janeiro, the second-largest city in the country and by far the most popular tourist destination in Brazil. Some of the must-see attractions in Rio de Janeiro are the Christ the Redeemer Statue (one of the New 7 Wonders of the World and the most famous landmark of the city) For more details on these attractions and other great places to visit in the city, read my full post on the best things to do in Rio de Janeiro. Kick off your 10 days in Brazil by spending a couple of days in Rio de Janeiro, exploring its world-famous beaches, snapping a selfie with the Christ the Redeemer statue and watching the sunset at Sugarloaf Mountain.
From exploring its picturesque streets and historical landmarks to tasting local food and swimming in otherworldly cenotes, there’s no shortage of amazing things to do in Valladolid, Mexico. Based on my experience, it’s not exactly a peaceful and quiet cenote but more like a place to have fun with your friends. See the Convent of San Bernardino de Siena About a 10-15 minute walk from Valladolid’s main square is the former Convent of San Bernardino de Siena. Due to Valladolid’s location, it’s a great hub for exploring the Yucatan Peninsula.
If you’d like to squeeze even more activities into your day or you’re looking for alternative options, there are lots of fun experiences to choose from in the area, such as this sloth watching tour, chocolate tour, zip-lining tour, and a night hike to see nocturnal animals. It’s time to head northeast and drive to Tenorio Volcano National Park to see the Rio Celeste waterfall. The entrance fee to the park is about 14 USD and there’s a 6 kilometer hiking trail through a lush rainforest which leads you to the incredibly beautiful Rio Celeste waterfall and several other viewpoints. There are several forest reserves in the area such as Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve, Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve and Children’s Eternal Rainforest.
