I am a Kiwi / Cali girl who has lived her life with a foot in two home countries, thanks to an American dad and a New Zealand mum. Through my life we have lived between the two places, which has instilled in me the love of both lands. While our "gypsy life" may have seemed unconventional to other families who were putting down roots in one place, I will forever be grateful for the excitement of travel that they introduced me to, and wouldn't have it any other way. They created the adventure-loving dreamer that I am today.
On our many sojourns down under to this exquisite emerald wonderland, I gleaned through the years a knowledge and appreciation of it that now has come to serve me well. Kiwis relish exploration of their beautiful country, no less me!
Another advantage I have had is that I have worked since 1995 in my family's US based travel business that specialized solely in New Zealand travel & tours. Through extensive training with the New Zealand Tourism Board, I received my certificate as a gold-level "Kiwi Specialist", and also as a "Matai Specialist" through the Fijian Tourism Board.
Nowadays, I work freelance and continue to live my life between my two home countries, enjoying the best of both worlds. But, I get great joy from promoting the remarkable splendor of our young and vibrant country that is taking it's place on the world scene, and I am thrilled to extend my knowledge of it to those traveling there.
I will be sharing with you highlights from different regions of New Zealand & the South Pacific Islands, not-to-be-missed attractions, some of my favorite accommodations, the best of Kiwi food & wine, unique arts & crafts, jaw-dropping photos from some incredible photographers and my favorite quotes sure to help inspire your own "wanderlust" ;) And of course from time to time you may even see some shots of myself and family, not to mention my awesome American hubby who will be making his first trip there along with me in 2019… so new exciting adventures to come!
