I’m doing a workshop on Tuesday! 🙋🏻‍♀️💖 come join me!⁣ ⁣ You’ll learn the 3 most important things to know when it comes to getting started with creating digital products (ebooks, courses etc) that earn you passive income ✨ ⁣ ⁣ This is for creative arts therapists, trainees/students, coaches, facilitators, & healers. ⁣ ⁣ Bring your notebook & pen to not down juicy detail and info 📝⁣ ⁣ ⁣ It’s just $6 to save your spot, which will also get you the recording + worksheet. (Visionary Art Therapist Membership members have access to the workshop for free). ⁣ Click the link in my profile to signup @thirstyforartofficial Hope to see you there! 🤓⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #marketingfortherapists ⁣ #privatepracticesuccess #psychotherapist #arttherapist #creativeartstherapist #arttherapistintraining #creativitycoach #soulpreneur

Why adding passive income might be your next step 💅🏽💸⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ It can add so much to your business and your life. ⁣⁣ - freedom⁣⁣ - flexibility in schedule⁣⁣ - more income ⁣⁣ - more creativity ⁣⁣ ⁣(who loves these?🙋🏻‍♀️💕)⁣ ⁣ But it can also benefit your clients. ⁣ How? ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Because it meets them where they’re at. ⁣⁣ Passive income involves creating products and hybrid/flexible services that don’t require your direct presence. ⁣⁣ Thus, the products you create are priced at a more affordable rate that’s meant to reach more people. ⁣⁣ The products also are more readily used & easily approachable (like books or videos) than committing to ongoing individual sessions. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Thus, passive income products can meet clients where they’re at. They might not be ready for services yet. They might just want an easy tool to accompany their growth. They might want to know you better thru your writings, videos, & other content before signing up for sessions. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Meet them where they’re at by diversifying your offering and including passive income products. 🙌✨⁣⁣ ⁣ Would you add passive income products to your practice/business? ⁣ Let me know any questions you have about passive income in the comments below! 👇🏼⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #arttherapist #creativeartstherapist #expressiveartstherapy #privatepracticesuccess #privatepracticemarketing #counselors #practicebuilding #marketingfortherapists⁣

Different types of income sources for art therapists ✨🙌⁣ ⁣ 1. Active income: can include clinical and non-clinical services and it requires your presence. Income = time x rate ⁣ ⁣ 2. Passive income: can include services, products, or a hybrid of them, and it does not necessarily require you to be present to earn this type of income. Income is not really based on you exchanging your time for money. ⁣ That’s why this income can add more flexibility and freedom to your work and life. ⁣ ⁣ Passive income might be a new thing for art therapists, so I talked more in-depth about it and gave 12+ ways to make passive income in my new podcast episode 47. ⁣ ⁣ Click the link in my profile to listen to the episode 💓⁣ ⁣ What do you think of passive income? What would you like to create to earn passive income? ⁣ Let me know in the comments! 👇🏼⁣ . . . . . #arttherapist #onlinearttherapy #creativeartstherapist #expressiveartsfacilitator #privatepracticesuccess

“How can you get people to pay for something they have no idea about?” 🧐😨⁣ ⁣ What if they don’t know art therapy well? ⁣ ⁣ What if you live and work in a place where people don’t know about art therapy? ⁣ ⁣ Have you had this question before? ⁣ ⁣ I answered this very question in my new podcast episode. ⁣ ⁣ ✨ One answer I shared there is 👉🏼 to understand your potential client’s problems and needs, and speak to it. ⁣ ⁣ When you talk about what they are dealing with, especially in an understanding way, you will naturally be seen as an expert, an authority in the matter, and people will trust you. ⁣ ⁣ They also automatically become more aware of the problem/need and be more inspired and motivated to seek a solution. ⁣ ⁣ And this is where your service (art therapy) comes into play. ⁣ ⁣ It is now a solution (or at least a part of it) for the problem your clients have. So naturally, people will want the service, i.e., the solution to their problem.⁣ ⁣ I talk more about this AND the other big way to create demand for art therapy (it might not be what you expected!) in ep. 46 on my podcast, Thirsty For Art. Listen on iTunes, Spotify, & any other major podcast app.⁣ ⁣ 💖⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #arttherapist #onlinearttherapist #creativelifecoach #arttherapybusiness #creativeartstherapist #privatepracticemarketing #marketingfortherapists #therapeuticartlifecoach #arttherapylife

Actual story of my biz coaching client (who’s an art therapist):⁣⁣⁣ 👇🏼✨⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ She wanted to expand into offering nonclinical workshops, but she was struggling with the question “how could I offer something different and needed?” and knowing her specific niche. There’s tons of people out there doing similar things, right? So what is SHE bringing to the table?⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ This seemed to make her feel stuck. ⁣⁣⁣ But after coaching she was able to move past this block. She found her perfect niche.🙌⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Do you want to know what turned it around for her? ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ The answer was... recognizing that what she is bringing to the table is HER. Herself. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣Her offer is her.🔥 Her niche is her.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Now, what this means for you is.. your offer is *you.* ⁣⁣⁣ It is you who clients want. It’s you and your experiences, what you’ve went through, your viewpoints, your quirks, your energy, that people want and love. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ You don’t have to “figure” out your unique selling point in a complicated way, you don’t have to have cook up something extraordinary and genius to offer. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ All you have to do is....⁣⁣⁣ Recognize yourself. Recognize it’s you that people really want. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Yes, there may be thousands of therapists, facilitators, and coaches out there. But you are YOU. All the experiences you had as a person help your clients in a unique way. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ You don’t have to complicate things. ⁣⁣ Look inside and own YOU, your unique voice, energy, approach, personality. ⁣⁣⁣ This is the kind of empowering conversation we have in my business coaching session. I help you open your eyes to the truth (that you are amazing), and buildinf your dream biz is easier than you think.⁣⁣⁣ I ALWAYS believe in you. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ If you are an (art) therapist or coach and wanna work with me, dm me :) I have spots open for a new unlimited coaching package. ⁣⁣⁣ Let’s make your dream business come to life ✨⁣⁣⁣ .⁣⁣⁣ .⁣⁣⁣ .⁣⁣⁣ .⁣⁣⁣ .⁣⁣⁣ #arttherapist #onlinearttherapist #creativelifecoach #arttherapybusiness #privatepracticemarketing #marketingfortherapists #therapeuticartlifecoach

It doesn’t matter how hard you work...⁣ 👇🏼👇🏾👇🏿⁣ ⁣ You can work hard. ⁣ And nothing meaningful will be accomplished....⁣ ⁣ You can work yourself to death.⁣ And nothing will give you the degree of success, achievement, fulfillment....⁣ If you are not on the right path. That is - YOUR unique path. ⁣ All you’ll be left with when you just work hard is the feeling of being worn out, burnt out, and exhausted, nothing much to give. ⁣ But when you are working in your aligned path, it’s like the uphill climbing battle is now a downhill slope you can slide with a sled. ⁣ ⁣ Less work, more efficiency, more joy, more energy. ⁣ Ease. Fulfillment. Joy. That’s what it feels like to live in alignment with your truth, your purpose.⁣ ⁣ I used to work 40 hours a week, count my hours for license, tried to become a counselor, spent 3 hours a day commuting... and it was all an uphill battle.⁣ I wanted to work as an art therapist but I didn’t really know my unique path as an art therapist.⁣ And then I looked deep within myself and got to the essence of what I wanted. It wasn’t the letters after my name, it wasn’t the recognition from others, it wasn’t even the money. ⁣ ⁣ You know what it was? It was service. It was serving others in a way that felt good to me, being true to me. ⁣ And that’s when I found myself on a downhill journey. I let go of the oars, and the waters carried me. ⁣ I was working half the hours, earning more than ever, seeing people who absolutely loved my work, enjoying my life doing things whenever I wanted. ⁣ Of course, I’m not saying I wasn’t challenged at all being on this unique art therapy path of mine... but I never had a moment when I DIDN’T believe in my work. Just being on this path feels so good to me. It always feels right. ⁣ ⁣ Hard work itself will not give you meaning, fulfillment, and success. ⁣ What will give you those things is you finding what clicks with you, living aligned with your dreams and visions, having fun, ease and flow in your work. And in your life.⁣ ⁣ If you are also all about that kind of career and life... give me a 🙌 in the comments. ⁣ ⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ #arttherapist #creativecareers #careerchange

Tip for choosing an art therapy master’s program 🤓✨⬇️ Look for where they’re accredited by! There are 2 main accreditations for art therapy master’s programs: 1. CACREP This is the counseling accreditation body and your master’s degree will count towards your counselor license! Thus, a CACREP accredited master’s program will be a counseling program but with specialization in art therapy. People often call this a “dual degree” program but it doesn’t mean you’re getting two degrees or anything like that. It just means you’re getting a counseling degree and (if they have AATA approval/CAAHEP accreditation) also enough art therapy credits to help you get ATR-BC as well. 2. CAAHEP This is an accreditation body that covers various different health science related professions and recently the American Art Therapy Association has looked to them for accrediting art therapy programs. A CAAHEP accredited program degree will help you get the ATR-BC designation but NOT necessarily a counseling or other state license in the mental health field. The AATA (American Art Therapy Association) also “approves” programs (*note that it does not “accredit”) - though they are now in process of making the approved programs just become CAAHEP accredited. So if a program is CAAHEP accredited, it is automatically considered AATA approved. Make sure to save & share this post for someone who needs this info! YES or NO: Marketing is easy. ⬇️ We had a fun conversation around this in my stories so I wanted to bring this here as well. What do you think? Do you think marketing is easy? If you said no, what do you think makes marketing hard? Counselors, social workers, therapists... you DON’T need to get a whole ‘nother master’s to do art therapy. 👇🏼👇🏽👇🏿 There are “post-master’s certificate programs” in art therapy that give you the art therapy classes you need to get registered/certified as an art therapist (or even get licensed as well). (applies to U.S. only & license rules differ based on the state you live in). It’s great since it’s fewer courses you have to take compared to a full art therapy master’s program. 🤓 Was this helpful? Make sure to save and send it to a friend or colleague who needs to know this! ✔️ p.s. if you have more questions and need help with pursuing an art therapy career in your specific situation, let’s talk 👩🏻‍🎨 I have spots for 1:1 career consultation! ✔️ Not all art therapist career paths are created the same. 💣🔥 In my last post I shared the average salary of art therapists in the US. And as you guessed, it’s pretty low. But the thing you have to know is that that’s for art therapists who are employed by SOMEONE ELSE - an organization or agency. That number reflects those who are in (what I call) the 9-5 / employee path. And it has a pay ceiling. Which makes sense since you are paid for your time and it’s not scalable. Your employer calls the final shots in terms of what you are paid. But being self employed is different. Especially if you are on (what I call) the online entrepreneur path. You got no pay ceiling. It’s whatever you want. You can scale. You can be paid not just for your time, but also for the value you bring to people - however way that is delivered (hello passive income, and hello multiple streams of income👋). So, the takeaway here is not that online entrepreneur path is best for everyone (although I love it & it’s awesome😉), but that you have choices and you can be flexible and creative in how you approach your career. You path doesn’t have to look like someone else’s path - even in the same field. Nothing is set in stone. It’s up to you. So what would YOU like? What would make your heart jump with excitement and joy? #arttherapist #creativeartstherapist #arttherapisttrainee #arttherapylife #arttherapystudent

How much do art therapists earn on average? 💸💰 👀 Well, based on a few of the largest job search & salary info gathering websites out there, the average is anywhere between $41k to $50k per year (USD). If you want more details on the salary data (AND hear the salary info based in my own experience working in the art therapy field, check out my blog post). DM me “salary blog” and I’ll share the link with you. Are you surprised with this finding? Are you disappointed or feeling 😖? Let me know in the comments! **NOTE. Know that these figures are ONLY for EMPLOYED art therapists working at an organization or agency. This does NOT reflect the earnings of self-employed art therapists with their own business or practice. If you do want to earn more than the average salary shown here, I really recommend the “online entrepreneur” or “business owner” art therapy career path. ✔️ If you want more help with pursuing those paths, let’s talk! Making art is awesome. But HOW you create art is important. WHO you are with when you create art makes a difference. Sometimes making art alone can be a stressful, anti-therapeutic experience. Yup I said it. Although we always say art is good and therapeutic, it’s not always the case. Some things don’t go as planned. Some things make it feel worse. Some things make us more confused, frustrated, and pressured. That’s when an art therapist steps in. There might be a better material you can work with. A more therapeutic process. A more in-depth yet safe approach to creative expression, that takes into account who you are as a unique individual. That’s what I love about what art therapists do - they make it so much easier to reap the benefits of making art 🙂 Did this resonate with you?
