May recap for our favorite twinnies: 🥳 Turned four years old 🎒 Finished nature preschool ⚽️ Wrapped up spring soccer 🩰 Watched Grace’s dance recital 🦷 Survived our first ER visit In a total freak accident, our poor Grace fell on her scooter and the handlebars knocked out her front teeth. She was wearing a helmet and wasn’t hurt otherwise…didn’t have a single scratch on her! The damage is done but our tiny, toothless Grace doesn’t seem to mind. She was such a trooper and so much more calm and brave than I would’ve been. Kids are so resilient! Having zero major kid injuries so far, @todaycolinsays and I feel like we had a good run but were probably overdue and thankful it wasn’t more serious. February was full of celebrations for our (not so) Little Liam! This golden birthday boy is officially seven and keeps us on our toes, makes us belly laugh like no other and can nap anywhere at any time. He’s our most creative kid; quiet but confident, silly and sweet, generous, cuddly, dances like nobody is watching and has yet to meet an animal he doesn’t like. So I’ve officially started to do some spring cleaning and it feels so good to get rid of the clutter after such a long winter…err, year of quarantine. While I’m also putting the finishing touches on the twins’ nursery and refreshing some other rooms, I’ve been scouring Etsy for things that could breathe some new life into the house. We’re going to have a pretty low-key Easter celebration at home but making baskets for the kids is always one of my favorite traditions. To give you some bright-colored Easter inspiration, I’m sharing my favorite basket fillers that the babies (and big kids) will love. I promise that I 100% do not gift all of these to my kids because to me, it’s not the size or amount of gifts that make us fun parents. I just wanted to round up a shortlist for the good of the cause and because I love a nice, themed holiday, I just can’t help myself.
I really try to stay organized when it comes to shopping for the kids, especially having three boys, I’ve done my best to keep hand-me-downs in check and stored by size. With this spring haul, I went with all things cute and comfy in lots of colors. I’m a pretty practical shopper looking for comfort plus a little style and since I’m still working from home, I snagged a few things for myself and the hubs, too. My favorite leggings (aka work-at-home-mom uniform) have side pockets, a high waist and come in the cutest colors.
With every holiday, I try to make at least one fun holiday treat but truth be told, I love a good semi-homemade dessert because things are always busy and sometimes I just want to get it done and move on to the next thing. mom tip: have your kiddos sort for you 🙂 1 cup miniature tiny twist pretzels (any small style is great but this size mixes well) 1 bag (11 ounces) white chocolate chips or melting white chocolate bar (I like Baker’s brand!) : I’ve seen recipes that also add in peanuts, sprinkles…you can really throw in whatever sounds good to you but make sure that if you add in extras beyond this recipe, you may need to reduce the quantity of some of the other ingredients to make sure you have enough chocolate to coat everything evenly. In another bowl, add the white chocolate chips and microwave slowly until melted.
