At the end of last summer, our family visited Tsankawi Village which is part of Bandelier National Monument in New Mexico, although it is not co-located with the main Bandelier park. If you are hiking with kids, you’ll want to make sure your kids can climb a ladder as there are three located along the trail. Lake Winery’s tasting room, and now I’m excited to share what you will find on the winery’s second story. It was the perfect movie for our wine weekend and helped ensure we didn’t let all the wine we consumed to allow us to drift off to sleep too early! With plenty of tables and places to enjoy a glass (or two) of wine just off of the tasting room, we didn’t mind waiting a bit. Whether you are planning your own girls’ weekend or a romantic weekend for two, Patoka Lake Winery is an ideal setting.
I wasn’t about to let a little snow (ok, a lot of snow!) stop me from completing February’s hike at Shades State Park! While I referred to January’s adventure as a winter hike, the foot of snow that dropped a few days before my February hike reminded me what winter really can be in Indiana! With a map of Shades State Park in hand, it was easy to find Trail 6, which is near the Dell Shelter. I found the trail markers to be even more helpful than usual since everything, including the normally well-defined trail path, was under a beautiful blanket of snow.
Wine tasting at Patoka Lake Winery runs $8 for 10 tastes, but tastings are included if you are staying in one of the suites. Patoka Lake Winery’s most celebrated wine is the Biker’s Black and Blue. Patoka Lake Winery’s more unique options, due to its creative bottling, is the PBRX. But as the saying goes, what happens at Patoka Lake Winery stays at Patoka Lake Winery.

Traveling Tanya is Turning 2!!! 🎉🎈🥂 Two years ago I started on quite an adventure as I created my travel blog. TravelingTanya.com lead me around the world as I have shared my passion for all things travel and inspired other busy people to make travel a priority. ✈️ 🚗 🚢 2020 has been a challenging year, and I know many of you can relate. Between Covid, isolation, the kids heading back to school, quarantine, navigating some difficult family challenges, political divisiveness, racial tensions, travel bans, and uncertainty about the future...it is enough to test anyone's patience and sanity! 🙋♀️ While I have taken a blogging break recently to cope with life's many challenges, I want to assure you that Traveling Tanya is not going away! I don't know when my next European adventure will happen, but I have a lot more travel inspiration in my heart.
