The only larger plaza is the Zocalo en Mexico City. Here in the main plaza, you’ll find beautiful colonial architecture, mountain views and tons of restaurants to enjoy a meal and people watch. la mano del artesano (the artisan’s hand) in raquira, colombia is such a unique spot to visit! it’s 10,000 pesos ($2.5 USD) to enter the attraction and they have tons of fun sculptures and photo spots! there’s a giant piggy bank, a huge donkey you can climb and the views are incredible. you can also buy a combo ticket for a little more and visit the upside down house right next door - honestly such a fun, silly little thing to do! raquira is about 3.5 hours from bogota, however, it’s only 40 minutes from villa de leyva making it a wonderful day trip! #raquira #raquiraboyaca #manodelartesano

Alexandria makes a fantastic day trip from DC, but it is also a wonderful weekend getaway if you’re visiting from further away. There is a nice park to relax in, and on a warm sunny day it’s the perfect place to be. You are able to tour the home, to see what life was like for a family living in Alexandria, Virginia in the 1800s; or you can simply tour the gardens. Visit the Skinniest House in the USA Alexandria is home to the skinniest house in the USA!
In today’s post I will be sharing some great restaurants that serve delicious vegetarian food in New Orleans! I was so excited to visit The Daily Beet in the Central Business District, but for some reason, I couldn’t find it. This is a place you’ll keep coming back to, and is definitely, in my opinion, one of the best vegetarian friendly restaurants in New Orleans. In the Historic District you’ll find landmarks like the State House, as well as the William Paca House. The Maryland State House is located in the Historic District of Annapolis, and is a great place to visit! Although it’s a small city, and you can visit many sites in a single afternoon, it’s a lovely place to spend a relaxing weekend. The location of the inn is also fantastic, right in the historic district near tons of shops, bars and restaurants; and just a few blocks from the waterfront.
Usually the line at Cafe Beignet locations is shorter than the line at Cafe du Monde, and I definitely recommend checking this place out! Close to Cafe du Monde in the French Quarter, this 5 block long open air market is a fantastic place to visit for yummy food and souvenir shopping. I recommend taking the streetcar from the French Quarter to the Garden District. If you get the opportunity, I also highly recommend listening to Tuba Skinny, an amazing group that plays both on the streets of the French Quarter as well as in venues around the city.
