This book was my Book of the Month selection for February, and I was so intrigued by it that I read it almost as soon as it arrived. Reading this book felt similarly to how I did with another Book of the Month pick: The Book of Essie. Today, let me introduce you to your new favorite mac and cheese: the Cheese-Makerโs Mac and Cheese. This monthly favorites roundup was pretty movie-heavy, so if youโre looking for book recommendations, check out my best reads from 2020.
Buy from Amazon Buy from Better World Books Buy from Amazon Buy from Better World Books Iโve followed Kathrynโs blog, Going Zero Waste, for years now, so itโs amazing Buy from Amazon Buy from Better World Books Buy from Amazon Buy from Better World Books City of Girls was actually the very first book that I read last year, and it absolute belongs on this list.
I loved the way she wove the story using what she knew, and I also appreciated that the romance felt more equal than that other vampire love series we all read in middle school. ๐ Iโve since finished all three books in the series (all got โ โ โ โ โ from me!) and absolutely devoured the first season of the show, which you can find on Amazon Prime. Iโd also just like to say that I used the covers as pre-webinar music three times this month and got compliments every single time! We watched two international Netflix shows this month, and I have to say I love that Netflix makes foreign language shows available to its users.
Iโve done a travel recap post for the last four years to remember all the places Iโve visited and things Iโve experienced. We had a fun group of people go, which makes all the difference, and we got to stay in a super swanky new resort addition. I always love to visit the Boardwalk when Iโm at Disney World, and the atmosphere at this upscale seafood spot was perfect. Iโd recommend my 2019 travelogue for food recommendations and 2016 for a fun spot to visit.

But you know I don't pass up any opportunity to dress up, especially when I can pull something together from my closet.โฃ โฃ Initially, I thrifted this @hm sweater from @kbousq's closet because I wanted to join the animal print party and tigers have always been my favorite big cats. It wasn't until this super cozy piece arrived at my house that I realized it would make the perfect quarantine pop culture Halloween costume! The United Nations created this day in 2012 to recognize the rights of girls and the unique challenges they face around the world. These challenges include everything from gender-based violence and lack of educational opportunities to child marriage and laws and stereotypes that undermine gender equality.โฃ โฃ In celebration of the #DayoftheGirl, I thought I would share a few facts about the girl in this photo: 9-year-old me.โฃ โฃ ๐ She wanted to be an author and wrote novel-length stories in the style of her favorite Dear America series every day after school.โฃ โฃ ๐ She also wanted to be an actress. (The red hair was courtesy of a community theater stint as little orphan Annie!)โฃ โฃ โค๏ธ She was so self-conscious of the broken blood vessel on her nose but hadn't yet started to count calories or nitpick all of her body's "flaws."โฃ โฃ ๐บ๐ธ She loved every bit of school but especially social studies and learning about American history.โฃ โฃ ๐ She was already very much a cat person.โฃ โฃ Girls around the world are advocating for change in the areas of climate change, children's rights, and more. I encourage you to visit @unwomen to learn how we can help them in the fight for gender equality! And, if you wanted to share a fun fact about yourself as a child in the comments or even your own little kid photos, I wouldn't be mad about it. ๐

Unfortunately, I've decided it'll have to wait.โฃ โฃ Because this week has been ๐ญ๐จ๐จ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐๐ก. Too much heartbreak, too much anger, too much genuine bafflement, too much laughter because if I don't laugh, I'll cry. โฃ โฃ So I'm doing the only thing I can do: ๐'๐ฎ ๐ต๐ณ๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ช๐ฏ ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ณ ๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ช๐ต๐ช๐ค๐ข๐ญ ๐ฑ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ค๐ฆ๐ด๐ด. You can Google the candidates that will appear on your specific ballot ahead of time.โฃ โฃ If you have any questions, hit me up in the comments or via DM. I don't know everything, but I'm willing to do some Googling for you if it will help you make the choice to take part in this year's election! #govote #getoutthevote #gotv #election2020 #vote2020

Other shave creams Iโve used end up gunking up the razor blades; this stuff lathers like a champ, moisturizing your skin while helping the razor glide. Also it smells heavenly (a light, sweet floral that isnโt cloying), and itโs made ๐ธ๐ช๐ต๐ฉ Shea butter and ๐ธ๐ช๐ต๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ต dyes, parabens, sulfates, and all that nasty stuff found all too often in bath products. โฃ โฃ ๐ช ๐๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ฒ + ๐๐๐ง๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐๐ณ๐จ๐ซ - This baby has five blades for a super close shave. Do I really need to say more? Okay, I will. I love that the razor is surrounded by a shave bar to help moisturize your skin even more. The handle is not only beautiful but ergonomically grippable.โฃ โฃ ๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ซ๐๐จ๐๐ฅ ๐ ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐จ๐จ๐ญ๐ก๐ฉ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ - Iโm a big fan of the Native brand, so getting to test this toothpaste was a no-brainer. Donโt let the charcoal color turn you off; itโs got a minty fresh taste and clean ingredients to detoxify and whiten your teeth!โฃ โฃ As my friend said when I told her about these products, if you were the kid who needed Mickey Mouse or Barbie on their toothpaste, youโd probably love this new collection from Target!โฃ โฃ Do you look for clean ingredients in your toiletries?
