7 years ago, I hopped on my first roadbike ride in the beginning of August (slides 1-3 from 2017) and now we here („now“ is 2021 in Tirol climbing the Hahntennjoch for the second time) 🤝 But to be honest, I don’t feel as good on the bike this year and seeing all the pictures from amazing cyclists climbing all these picturesque mountains gives me quite a bit of envy. Mostly because I’m struggling with my hand falling asleep (carpal tunnel syndrome from the hormones) and quite a fear of crashing. 🥲 Let’s see how this journey continues!
Hard to believe that I’ve never done the ride to Bratislava, living just 70km away - today was the day thanks to the grandparents 🫶 It all went pretty well, stayed dry, nailed nutrition, always found a place to fill up the bottles when needed - until I realized I typed in the wrong train station in Bratislava and I will be home late. 🫠 Fellow parents will know the feeling of discomfort, but here we are, back on the way to Vienna. With a TSS of 137, it probably was the hardest ride since 1,5 years, but for me personally, it’s a great achievement on the way back! #beatyesterday

Quite a common question in my DMs so here’s my 5 cents on pregnancy bibs 🤰🏼 TLDR as @veloine.cc doesn’t exist anymore and don’t makes any pregnancy bibs, the best solution for me is to simply size up 2-3 sizes and wear bibs with comfortable leg endings like the @straede.cc ones I’ve been using. When the belly is growing, it’s likely that your training sessions will get shorter so the mildly moving chamois won’t be a big issue. 💡 What was your solution, fellow cycling moms?

Spent the last few days offline on a little cycling holiday with the grandparents and 👶🏼 - the best possible way! Came back home relaxed, with a little cold 🤧 and many more content and ideas for posts on here. But let’s start with a little photo „dump“ from the Monti Berici, Vicenza and Bassano del Grappa! 🇮🇹 The region is so green and rich and offers a great variety of routes. Also, many Italian cycling brands come from here!
Unterschätze nie die Liebe der Deutschen zu ihren Unterhosen (und zum Unwort „SCHLÜPPI“) 😂 Why does it make sense to ditch the underwear while roadcycling and gravel cycling, especially for longer rides? During each pedalstroke, your pelvis makes a small movement. When there’s a sewing or a small wrinkle of your underwear between the chamois and your body, it will start to chafe after some time. Chafing leads to painful injuries. If you usually wear your underwear more than once before disposing it - for example by washing it after you wear it - your bibs will stay hygienic if you wash them with sports detergent after the use aswell. There is also a chance that you won’t have any issues with wearing underwear, especially if your rides aren’t that long, and if it works for you: congratulations! 🥳 For most people, it will end in an issue tho. Many also don’t feel comfortable talking about such a sensitive topic and if this advice can save the private parts of just one person, it’s already a win. 💪
